Tough loss, but we played a really good second half IMHO. Our rebounding and free throw shooting were particularly impressive, considering they are areas we've struggled this season.
I think for outsiders seeing this game televised, it may be something of an eye-opener as to how good Florida is/can be. Kentucky was an Elite 8 team last year and I think they are much better this year, especially offensively, with the additions of Stallworth (transfer) & O'Neill (injured last year). No shame in losing a single-digit game on their home court.

Any word on if/when Chandler Cooper may return? We could really use her back in the lineup for SEC play.

We have a good team, Need that 1 player who can get us over the top, and hope the Williams girl is the answer.

Williams is one of two McDonald's All Americans added to the fold next year. Cassie Peoples will have a major impact as well.

It's nice to see that we still match up well with a team that is better than they were a year ago. UK was an elite 8 team last year and I believe they will make the big step and very possibly get to the final game.
After all of our losses to graduation, I expected us to struggle more with them, but we we're just a competitive as we were last year. It just goes to show you that the talent level has been brought up a few notches this year and will only get better.

When have we ever been an elite women's hoops program in the SEC?

Late 90s - we were one basket away from the final four one year and had a Wade trophy winner (best player in WBB) DeLisha Milton. Of course that is literally a lifetime ago for today's recruits, hence the uphill battle Butler has faced.

Lets try to keep a realistic perspective. As mentioned by EestTNGTOR a number of times next season will be the first one where all the pieces finally come together. Your 7 freshman this year plus the returned Needles and Lewis will use this season to gain valuable experience. Add next year into the mix Peoples, Williams(another Big) and the healthy big post Dimaite (who will be ready after 2 seasons in the program with good development). Then factor in Bonds and Svete and the big Big Mcintyre and room for 3 more freshman (some highly ranked girls already on the radar screen) and you have the makings of an SEC title team especially with the continued downward slope of a Coach Summit-less UT program. If they win just one more SEC game then last this season will be a good jumping off point. Then you hope that success attracts even more top level recruits like bee's to honey.

I saw the 2nd half and loved the effort. The ladies never quit.
