Yeah, you wonder what color-blind moron is choosing to make us look stupid. That combo should be banned for life.

For some reason I too felt like a big letdown was coming when I first saw that color combo. I don't know why but I did. Maybe because we didn't look like ourselves.....who really knows why.

obob nails it once again. Color scheme may look bad to some---acceptable to others--even great to a few. Bottom line---color of unis makes NO DIFFERENCE in how we play, plain and simple.

We didn't play well for a myriad of reasons but in so many other thread which keep bantering/arguing/analyzing back and forth as to why---Louisville wanted it more than we did, and they came prepared to play like the game meant something. Gators did not feel like the game meant as much and it showed.

But it needs to be repeated once again to those who actually believe...(lol)....that uni colors dictate our play---they don't. Period.

Dooley reported that the players wanted to go all orange, while that would have looked awesome, I'm glad they didn't, then we would get more ridiculous "orange jerseys caused the loss" posts.

The blue top orange bottom look is a little busy on the eyes.

I fully agree with the poster who said that orange and blue are our school colors! How in the world can any Gator find that to be a "hideous" color combo? It's not necessarily a scheme I would wear for a night out on the town (unless it was to attend a Gator event), but to me it's a beautiful look for a football uniform.

I also fully agree with Mr. Limey or rather his young charges who noted that those who are overly concerned with the uniform colors ought to get down to the hairdressers. Perhaps a fetching up-do with some highlighted tips, eh wot?

Yes, that combo is butt ugly, however that had no bearing on the outcome. The Cards kicked our orange and blue asses all over the super dome.

Those uniforms are dreadful. I am o.k. with pretty much all of the rest of our combinations, but the blue tops orange pants are awful. We violated some serious fashion feng shui rules and it seriously bit us in the ass all night long.

I'm pretty sure I have. I recall Spurrier's Gators wore that combo a few times. Personally I like it because it's the combo that screams "GATORS!" the loudest. Lots of teams wear combinations of blue and white but nobody wears that shade of orange and blue. In fact I remember noticing at the 1999 Orange Bowl that Syracuse's orange & blue is easily distinguishable from ours. There was no mistaking whose fans were whose.

We've lost in every uniform combo possible. I don't get all the whining about uniforms. I don't like white on white but I don't start a thread complaining about it every time our guys wear it.

But uniforms in no way affect performance. Believing otherwise is pure superstition and has no basis in reality.

Humans are influenced by many, many different things, and colors are, in fact, a really important factor in the way we react to things.

To call such stuff superstition is overly simplistic. I may well have an effect. That is unknown, but should be discounted as a possibility.

If you step on 3rd base before coming in to bat, and if, almost every time you do that, you get a hit or a walk, while when you don't, you are out, then that superstition gains supporting evidence.

The same is true for things like specific Uniforms. If the Gators win 75-80% of their games, yet, when they wear a specific color combination, that proportion drops to 50%, then there is some supporting evidence that it may have an influence.

Nothing is absolutely, no mater what the Material Meta-Paradigm proponents foolishly believe. In fact, everything is probabilistic and at least somewhat chaotic at base, and that is precisely why you can't ever predict what is going to happen with more than a minimal accuracy.
