I hope BOOM
is looking for a QB today. JD has not progressed since the TN game. His mental awareness reminds me of a high school QB. He's played enough ball at UF to not continue to make the same mental mistakes. Spring ball would be wide open for the QB job in 2013.

Exactly! Obviously this guy has no clue or he would know we have Max and just got Will Grier committed. So I wouldn't take this thread very seriously!

Have we completely forgotten the entire year? This team FAR exceeded anyone's reasonable expectations. A bowl loss does not take away from great year! I suspect that if anything, it will make our team stay focused and work hard on the grueling offseason. I think the cries for radical changes are grossly reactionary.

I'm sure every position is "open". JD had a very good year. Receivers and o-line play have a lot to do with the success a quarterback has. Without throwing anyone under the bus, I don't hang the loss on JB. The hit that caused the fumble would have had the same result with the majority of quarterbacks playing college ball. He missed on the first int. after making a good read. Can't remember but seems like the second int. actually hit receiver. Not sure, but not ready to say he lost his position as a starter last night.

All JD needs to do is study study study! He has film of his play for a whole year now. Him and Pease need to do their homework together. I am willing to bet it clicks with JD. He played for a bag HS team that he was forced to do it all himself. He needs to realize to trust his team. I feel it will come easier with a better O line next year.

Really the only thing wrong with Driskel is that he doesn't step up in the pocket and get rid of the ball early enough.
You guys act like he has no arms...

No...the TEAM has no vertical game.
Our receivers do not have the separation to get open deep, nor does our offensive line protect well enough to give Driskel the time to wait for someone to break open deep. Throw in a head coach who prefers to not take chances, but move it methodically down the field relying heavily on the running game and a stout defense.
It's a team weakness, not all on Driskel.

...and his accuracy isn't very good, and he can't recognize blitzes, and he locks onto his first receiver. What's left after that, really? Pure athletic ability...

It's his first year starting. Part of not recognizing blitzes is due to the OL not being able to block them in time. Jesus, if you people know what you're doing, go apply to be a coach some where. If not stfu and watch the games like the rest of us ignorant people do. He is starting in the SEC for a reason and he will only get better. This proves why you guys are on your computer right now and not coaching somewhere, because you don't know what the eff ur talking about.

It doesn't ruin the entire year...but it certainly sours it.
It also makes Muschamps' coaching legacy a question mark.
Both years as a headcoach now display 'unexplained losses'.

Plenty of blame to go around. We were out coached out played out hustled out smarted and out classed. We looked like a bunch of guys on the playground. However, we finished 11-2. Even though this game was a huge disappointment, we had a great year with a bad last game. The last time I looked we didn't stop them on third down but a couple times. JD wasn't on the field on defense. Bridgewater had some great plays but the receivers also made some great catches. I said several times in the game how did he catch that?? Don't remember saying that at all for our guys. The lack of discipline bothers me more than anything else. Still I will take 11-2 any year. Its Great To Be A Florida Gator!!

Great year by all means....we went places nobody could have dreamed of before the season started but lets be openly honest right about now. Jeff NEEDS to be watching film as I type this message. Yes we can all agree that our O-line is below average when it comes to pass protection, but to some degree Jeff has to know how to step up into the pocket and deliver the ball down the field. I played football all my life and even in Junior High our coaches preached the importance of stepping up in the pocket and FEELING the pressure because you're not alway going to see them coming so you have to feel the coming. I hope that Jeff works sun up to sun down on his footwork and field vision because he has the tools to be one of the best in the nation if he can just put it all together. I hope that he does as I would like to see him take the next step in becoming a Gator great.

The problem isn't the hit. It is that it came on a corner blitz that should have been recognized. The same blitz happened to Bridgewater last night, he recognized it and threw the ball to the receiver that was being covered by the blitzer and they picked up around 10 yards.

My thoughts exactly. If I remember correctly, that defender (a safety?) went completely unblocked and was clearly blitzing pre-snap. Picking that up should have been at the very least a matter of self-preservation. He almost seems at times so concerned about where he is going to throw the ball that he fails to even look for this kind of stuff.
