Losing tonight's game would be INCREDIBLY disappointing
I'm not trying to be a negative vibe merchant or anything like that. I think we will win. But if we lost, this would be a hugely disappointing bowl loss. It seems like many of us are assuming this is going to be a cake walk (me included). And if this season has taught me anything, nothing is a cake walk with this team.
I remeber how disappointed I felt following the 1992 Sugar Bowl loss to Notre Dame. I think this would match that level of disappointment if we were to come up short tonight.

Ehh, I think we have got this one. You neve know though. We just need to play To the best of our ability and let the chips fall where they may. If we don't beat ourselves I think we win this one handily.

This is, of course, the key

'91 Notre Dame was a much better team with quite a bit of NFL talent on the field. Notre Dame had 8 members in the '92 NFL Draft, 9 in the '93 Draft. '12 Louisville might have one or two NFL stars on the entire team. Only Florida can beat Florida in the '13 Sugar Bowl. Win the turnover battle, the Gators got this.

My brother and I were at that '92 Sugar Bowl. Yes, it was a tough, disappointing loss.

20-13 Gators. Do just enough on offense and let the defense do what they do best.

I hear that Strong plans to have the Louisville players come out of the locker room carrying Louisville Sluggers. Some of the players will then beat the stuffing out of a stuffed gator with their bats.
The question is, will this intimidate the Gators or not?

If they are allowed to use them in the game, it would. But if not, then no

I heard that Joker Phillips brought out a live cardinal during practice last week and castrated it in front of the players.

Therein lies the problem. I don't expect a cake walk and until we get some gamebreakers at wide receiver, I don't believe we'll be able to separate from our opponents like we did during the Spurrier era and from 2008-2009 in the Meyer era.
I can see our defense putting a nice beating on them and that's pretty much what it will take for us to win by 10-14 points or more.

Getting hit by a truck would be disappointing, but I don't waste my time posting about how much it would suck if it actually happened.

Sugar Bowl (33), Jan. 2, Louisville vs. Florida
Who has momentum: The Gators have won four in a row, highlighted by the victory at Florida State. The Cardinals have lost two of their last three, but earned a gutty win at Rutgers to earn their way here.
Who has motivation: Louisville is motivated to prove it is BCS-worthy, and coach Charlie Strong is motivated to show former employer Florida that he should have gotten consideration to replace Urban Meyer. The Gators should be eager to stake a claim as the second-best team in the country with a victory here.
Who has cooler helmets: Florida’s orange with the script-blue “Gators” is pretty cool.

How about the loss to Michigan in 2007.
Hou about the loss to Missouri during the Spurrier Era, when Ray Graves lacked confidence in his Spurrier led team, and being behind 20-6, went for two rather than 1. If I recall, the Gators had a Lou Groza finalist kicking extra points that year. That 20-18 loss was perhaps the most disappointing I have ever experienced. When Graves went for 2 - I said: "EGADS - can't he do sums???????"
A loss to Louisville would merely be another bad loss in a long history of bad losses.
As a 14 point favorite on neutral turf, the chances of a loss are not great, perhaps 1 year out of 8-10, if everything goes against you.

I remember after that game I was at that old Taco Bell on Tennessee Street down there across the street for Doc's Sports Bar.
I had just placed my order and some nolie fan saw my Gator shirt and made a comment about "that beating Notre Dame" gave us. So I said "yeah, they whipped us good, but if it's 8:46 in Tallahassee, do you know what time it is in Gainesville?"
Then I said "it's 14 to 9". (We beat FSU in a our last regular season game that season by that score). Needless to say, the nolie just "harumphed" and shushed after that.

Just don't think it will be that close, not unless for some reason we absolutely stink it up tonight.
UL's defense is allowing about 150 rushing and 330 total yards of offense a game, and have allowed opponents over 30 points several times, and that's against their level of competition. This is not an A&M, LSU, USCe, UGA, or FSU level defense we're facing tonight. They're probably about as good as Vandy's maybe.
Even after all the talk about their "dual threat" QB, he actually has less than 70 rushing yards on the entire season.
I really believe we have UL out-classed and out-manned in this game.
I expect them to be competitive, but to begin wearing down and UF pull away as the game goes on.

I think we win. I just want to see improvement in some areas. I don't hate Louisville and I still have great respect for Strong so I am not super stressed about this game.
