John Boehner Told Harry Reid 'Go (blank) Yourself' Outside the Oval Office
The pressure of it all must be getting to Boehner...
John Boehner Told Harry Reid 'Go F--- Yourself' Outside the Oval Office
http://news.yahoo.com/john-boehner-t...103332376.html
"The fiscal austerity crisis has been temporarily averted, but given the apparent animosity between the current leaders of Congress its a miracle that any deal was made at all. Politico has a rather lengthy breakdown of the last week or so of negotiations that led to last night's budget bill and it leads off with an anecdote illustrating the current state of American politics. As they arrived for a much-hyped meeting with the President last Friday afternoon, Speaker of the House John Boehner spotted House Majority Leader Harry Reid approaching just steps from the Oval Office. According to "multiple sources," Boehner pointed his finger at Reid and without any other fanfare said, "Go f*** yourself." When Reid asked him what he was talking about, Boehner simply repeated his curse and moved on."

I read that John McCain invited him to do the same thing years ago.

*yawns* Congress has to be the most boring deliberative body on earth. They used to cane each other half to death.

Of course, no one says such things to anyone outside the cesspool we call Washington. No one in business, in their family (sadly), other drivers, etc.

Well, at least Boehner has done something right.

Boehner just earned another gold star from me. Harry Reid suffers from little man's disease. Even Biden couldn't work out anything from Dingy Harry. He dealt directly with McConnell as McConnell has had it with the midget.

If it had been Reid saying this to Boehner, board Democrats would be going, "Awww Yeah!"

The politico article that comes from is a particularly good read.

Boehner has been trying hard to come to some sort of practical solution. Reid could care less if the gubmnt goes into default and shuts down. He is playing with house money and doesn't give a chit about the country. Him and 0 are made for each other.
Worst triumverate of leaders in the history of the US when Pelosi, Reid, and 0 controlled things and it shows in our economy and in the debt we are passing onto our children.

I don't get that sense from the Politico article. Looks like both sides were pushing for their position while reigning in their revolters. And no one seems particularly full or virtue or entirely innocent. It really is an interesting peek behind the door of the negotiation process. And Biden's role in pulling it together is interesting too.

I'm thinking it was his opening salvo on the debt ceiling negotiations...sounds just like 0's opening offfer. I hope they just shut down the gubmnt for a few months. That would save some coin.

I see a lot of off the wall things posted here, but I can't think of anything as detached from rational thinking as your want, though the bitherism that still pops up here and there is pretty close.

Perhaps it was a helpful suggestion for a good time since Boehner was last seem performing this difficult act during plan B.
