Across the board they are getting gashed by SEC standards. Still the best Ds in the country though. Personally I think this shows more about SEC Os than D. Offense is too conservative, boring, and time shortening in the SEC, which inflates the D numbers. Still the best, just a tad overrated this year IMO. But frankly the SEC can get worked this bowl season, but as long as UF wins ill be happy

Does any SEC team have the ability to score at will? Defenses are looking good for a while but when other teams score and the D has to get back out there it is not looking good for the SEC. As long as Florida wins I am good!

I disagree. UGA is playing exactly like they did until they gad some antics to get their butt in gear. They are detached and not interested.
South Carolina is chasing scat backs.
LSU was on the field for 100 plays thanks to poor offense and coaching.
MSU had numerous turnovers. But their D was not that great anyway.
Still, LSU should have never let that game be close. Georgia has no busines losing to a very poor N team. Northwestern deserves to win when they play like that.
It is unfortunate that UGA along with Richt and Miles apparently are still enjoying the holidays.

So far the SEC has bought into their own hype. Guess what? You still have to come ready to play, because each team is coming at you with their best shot. They all want to shut up the SEC. Same can happen to our guys if they aren't careful.

Hence why I said it may be more of a matter of SEC offenses

I think this is far more likely. Aside from one or two teams each year, the SEC hasn't had a lot of offensive firepower the last five or six years. And that's been a winning strategy for the most part.

LSU should have won. You can largely put that end on some terrible coaching at the end.
Mississippi State had a freak game turnover wise. Northwestern is pretty good too. I think Northwestern was legitimately the better team.
Georgia not having Jenkins is clearly hurting them. They should be beating Nebraska pretty handily, but really, they just aren't playing that well. The only game they really played great defense this year was against us, so...eh.
South Carolina's offense is a mess, but they should still win.

might be indicative of how anemic our collective offenses were this year, relatively-speaking.

I agree that LSU could have been beaten worse and too many people are focusing on Miles' bad decision as the sole make-or-break moment.
These are just good bowl matchups so far. This wouldn't be the first time in the past 6 or 7 years the SEC has fared poorly in these bowls.

The SEC has played and defeated the best offenses in colllege football history in route to championships. Its defenses have done the job in dominant fashion. The SEC having great defenses has little to do with the offeses fielded by the league.

That doesn't mean all, or even most, of the defenses are good. It could easily mean the offenses are poor

It also doesn't mean it's inherently the case just because it was for 7 or 8 years. We won't know for sure this year because Bama isn't exactly facing an offensive powerhouse.
