Yup, and its still a joke conference. the 2nd place A-She-She team barely beat the 4th place SEC team, and wouldn't have won without the idiot at the helm on the other side.

I started posting on this thread when Clem was down 0-7 early, by the way.

Let's hope our team takes note of what can happen when you take teams lightly.

This mean what? Seriously, one win doesn't change the fact that your conference sucks.

I agree the ACC sucks in football. Pretty good in hoops but the SEC prints money. The ACC will never catch the SEC. You got that part right.
Still, Clem hung in there and gutted out a win.
That's good enough for tonight.

Exactly. the 2nd place ACC beats the 4th place SEC (in a down year for LSU) and they feel like its this huge accomplishment. Shows how pathetic their conference is.

obvious to me that LSU did NOT take clemson lightly at all. they were playing hard and fast from the get go. clemson came to play. elevated their game. won it on the field, albeit w/ some sketchy calls by lsu.
this sort of game just affirms to us couch coaches what we all suspect: we could probably do better at coordinating/playcalling at certain junctures of a given game hehehe....

I know right? It really seems like common sense, you need to run the clock out, you don't throw incomplete passes.

LSU's defense was whipped by the end of the game, too many 3 and outs by their offense kept the defense on the field for way too many plays. That and the two pass calls on their last possession cost them the game. I know Les likes to be unconventional but he or his OC outsmarted themselves with those calls. Good game though.

Right, just like he has all year. A big part of coaching is knowing your strengths and weaknesses, is it not?

Stupid play calling by Leslie on 2nd and 2 and 3rd and 2 before LSU had to punt.
Again, Miles makes stupid decisions and this time bit him in the ass.

It takes this kind of game for an ACC to beat a quality SEC team.
Some iffy calls both ways.
Wouldn't have been close if Clemson hadn't of dropped the ball 3-4 times.
Good job Clem.
They open next year against UGA.

We missed you on the NC State-Vandy game thread after that one post early on. Where were you for that one?

Well, Les Miles embarrassed the SEC in this game!

LSU's highpowered, non existent offense and a few bad play calls gave this game to Clumpsin. Too bad, LSU had this one won.

I agree. That's the problem when you have a terrible O. Frankly UF isn't much different. It's all results based analysis. Odds are if you run it 3 straight you get stuffed....especially a UF or LSU type offense. Mixing it up is risky as well. The truth is getting a first down isn't likely because....the offense is terrible.
In terms of play calling their last drive was great. Look, they had a guy open by 10 yards on second down. What more do you want? It's equivalent to running on 2nd and the guy tripping over his own feet. Hard to blame coaches. It was a great call even with a bad QB

Law,
Pretty sure my last post on that thread said Vandy looked good and it was a quality win for them. People say these kinds of games don't matter. I say they do and here is why:
1. Recruiting. You can sway 2-3 recruits with wins like Vandy, GT and Clemson got yesterday. Recruits on the fence go to where there is good momentum and a positive vibe. Vandy is an example of that.
2. It is a long off season when you lose games like these.
3. Preseason polls matter.
4. In-season polls matter. When 2 loss SEC teams are ranked ahead of 1-loss ACC, Big-10, Big-12 and Pac-12 teams then something has to freaking change.
Nice wins for GT, Clem and Vandy.

One more thing:
This win here reminds me of Clemson's early season victory over Auburn. Auburn went on to have a bad year so people forgot that win and it was the exact same kind of game. Both teams laid it on the line and every single inch of earth was fought for as if it was the civil war. Great, amazing, heart pumping football at its finest.
Auburn sucked because they were heart broken over the Clemson loss. They tanked because they left in on the field.
I say games like this matter big time.
Now, as far as which conference is better, game over, SEC wins, in everything money, competitiveness, fans, etc. I got nothing. You guys are far away ahead of the pack.
