How does Gatornation feel about QB Jeff Driskel?
Just curious as to how other fans view driskel.
Im still on the fence about him.
For the most part i think the kid is good and has a huge upside.
He doesnt throw picks and he plays well in big games and in the 4th quarter
But sometimes he makes me wanna pull my hair out. This may be because hes still young. Thoughts?

Guy is a frickin gamer.. I love the kid..tough as nails, still has a lot to learn, but when it all comes together, look out, could be the best qb we've ever had. Maybe not in terms of shear statistics, cause he started as a junior, and plays in a different system than UM's and SOS's. Can't really believe this is a serious question.

dude is a stud, he has had issues with getting rid of the ball but don't forget that guy we worship had the same issue all the way up through his senior season.

Agreed on the making me want to pull my hair out at times, but I feel like it's just because of his age and learning on the fly. WE Gators ask a lot of a QB- Its not just add water instant offense lol .
I think he will get better with every practice and game. Sure up the line and give him some more weapons and the O will match up to our D.

I feel great about him. He had a fine year for a sophomore QB in his first-year as a starter playing one of the 2 or 3 hardest schedules in the country, several in hostile environments, and behind an OL that was patched up for much of the season. I think he's only going to get better over the next two years. And if we ever get a couple All-SEC-type WRs for him, watch out!

Isn't he 10-1 as a starter? That likely makes the all-time leader in winning percentage for a Gator QB. I'm pretty happy with him.

Love the kid! Like to see him learn his progressions a little better but that should happen going forward. Think one of his best attributes is his ability to throw on the run. Can't wait for next year. Dang offseason!

seems to be able to shake off some bad plays.
diverse skill set.
has the drive to continuously work to improve too.
humble.
i think some of the issues probably lied in how he was "coached", namely: don't give up the ball - was probably THE indisputable priority. so, if there was a hint of an issue w/ the throw, he hesitated a fraction too long (in evaluation mode) - which resulted in a sack.
looking forward to his performance in the bowl and then next season as well, w/ another year under Pease. i think he'll really flourish.

11-1 as a starter this yr just under 65% completion 11-3 TD-INT Ratio. Around 400 yards and 4 TDs rushing. I'll take that.
Sure he has things to work on, but as a true sophomore I'll take it.

Grossman and Tebow weren't afraid to throw to a guy the was covered. This is what made them so good. They played without fear.
Leak was too conservative with the ball, but had so many weapons that it worked out for him, although it was still tough to watch at times.
Brantley was scared to death to throw into coverage, I saw it while he was a backup.
I still see fear in driskel, and I haven't seen anyone ever improve on that symptom. The great ones have that confidence from day 1. That being said, driskel makes play and can be a solid starter. Heck, with the way our defense plays, maybe the super conservative approach isn't such a bad thing. He doesn't turn it over, and can run.
Driskel has the same ceiling as Leak IMO, which isn't bad. I don't see grossman or wuerrfel or Tebow though.

I think we're really lucky to have him. I believe by next fall, everyone will have the same oppinion of him. I believe you'll see a big improvement in the offense and our scoring production IF our OL is better and can protect when a pass play is called. I'm looking foward to next year.

He is our quarterback, so I support him and hope he gets over his fears soon. I also hope he learns the internal QB clock. Soon.
