Michigan vs. Indiana
#1 at #3. Indiana started the season at #1. One of the announcers for our game mentioned that these teams have more NBA stock, whereas we do not have a top ten draft pick on our team. I'm interested to watch this one. Almost 5:00 in and Indiana is out to an 18-7 lead. Both teams look impressive in terms of skill/athleticism.

Finally get to see Michigan for an entire game. I've seen both teams play, and came away very impressed with IU and not all that impressed with UM. We'll see, but I predict a big IU win.

Indiana is making it look effortless. But they can never reproduce the same type performances on the road.

Mich has gotten back in and it's been a very entertaining game. Indy on a couple mini runs in the second half, with the ball up nine.

Both teams look really good. I'd say we are about as good as Indiana and maybe a hair behind Indiana who may be the most athletic team in the country.

Yep. I agree, esp. if you meant "about as good as Indiana and maybe a hair behind Michigan." UM looks more athletic than IU.

I think both these teams have better athletes than us, but we have the best team defense and chemistry.

I'm not sure I've seen a Center move like Zeller, and Oladipo was more athletic than anyone on the floor tonight, IMO. This is one team I would not want to run into come tournament time.

Real "classy" move by that Indiana player to slam home a dunk as time expired and Michigan had clearly conceded. I never seen that happen, every other time the player with the ball just dribbles out the rest of the clock.

We're as good as anyone in the country. We are very strong. We can play with Indiana. We can beat them. I think we are very even.

They are more physical than us. Will and Patric would have to play mean.
We could beat michigan though.
It was also a big time atmosphere for IU. Neutral court is always a different story.

Apparently, UM hasn't won on the road against a top five team since '93 (if I remember what they quoted correctly). Although they didn't say it, they must have meant during the regular season, can't believe they haven't beat a top five team including the NCAA tourney since '93.

Indiana went cold plenty of times. They had a 15-point lead midway through the half and only scored eight more points, and that was against a Michigan team that has very little size or defensive presence in the paint. McGary gave them fits defensively and, while he is a talented kid, I would take our bigs any day over him at this stage. Indiana also was forced into 16 turnovers against 13 assists. And talk about a FT disparity: 25-7 in favor of Indiana. Even if you take away the late fouls, they still had a putative advantage in that category.
I like Indiana because they are a pretty balanced team with an outstanding coach in Crean. But nothing in that game made me think they were the best team in the nation or that they were a better team than us. They beat a very good, but very green Michigan team on their home floor and they let them back in the game after building a nice lead.
I think sometimes we watch our games so closely and dissect them with such scrutiny that we end up atomizing the weaknesses or mistakes in our team that we overlook in others. This Florida team is really, really good. They are as good defensively as anyone in the nation, they share the ball tremendously well on offense, they are deep and balanced and experienced and athletic, and they have one of the top five coaches in the game right now. The very fact that some of the threads express disappointment with a 14-point win against a ranked opponent that we dominated from the under-16 timeout forward should tell you something.

I think this is incredibly true, and it's probably the same with every fanbase in the country. How many fans of top five teams have watched us murder other schools and thought, "Man, I wish we played defense like Florida" or "Damn, I wish our bigs could shoot like that Murphy kid?"
