Clemson Continues To Have UF's Number In Recruiting

What's missing is that they have bought some of those guys and more importantly, every season, on more than one occassion, it is likely Clemson will be Clemson. Florida, on the otherhand, being Florida, is a good thing.

I don't get too upset nowadays cause the kids that choose Clemson over Florida clearly have no interest in winning anything of significance in college.

It's a shame for them. CJ wanted to transfer, but just couldn't. I don't think anything nefarious went on there. He was heavily swayed by Bowden's religious ze". Some of the others, it is just so improbabale you have to wonder.

It's all about competition and getting on the field from day one! Kids who choose to play for the Clemson's of the world don't want to compete for their position. They want things handed to them, stay for 3 years and leave for the nfl. I also think it has to do with kids wanting to seem better than they appear. A good receiver in the ACC looks great. In the SEC a good reciever out of hs looks average at best. Not to say all kids are like this but I do think some kids choose this way.

Every year, we get between 20 and 25 recruits that Clemson wants.

It's a pretty vast mischaracterization to say that Clemson "has our number."

I live in Greenville, SC and there's a local Clemson sports call in show. The radio guys do talk about these kids in that they chose Clemson over Florida but every now and then they will talk about some "funky" situations with these recruits. For example, the Bellamy picture where he's holding out $100 dollar bills like he's in a rapper movie, then there was a comment buy a player last year in that financially he's doing better financially than he ever has in his life. They went on to say that they felt that if there are impropriaties, that it needs to be on the hush and not getting out in the press but they also said that if Clemson is cheating they need to either stop or the NCAA will bring a stop to it. Even they think that there is something fishy going on. They don't talk much about it but when they do they have questions.

Clemson is South Carolina's bitch! They know it and hate it. They stab into Florida because the pool of players is deep. Everybody gets some from Florida, even weak forest!

DeMarcus, I wouldn't call him stupid, because they probably had to get down on their knees and tell him and his mother and other guidance people like his coach, who undoubtably has it in for Florida, what they wanted to hear. It will all come out in the long run, but the athlete nowadays going to Clemson is like some kids playing minor league baseball, never getting to the pros. It is alright, getting exposed in bowl games is what Dabo and Clemson are all about. LSU do you thing in the Peach Bowl.

Hahahaha!! Nice! I like the other guys post about how they get 2-4 recruits we want, and we get 20-25 they want. Clemson might pick up a good WR, RB, or DE everyone once in while but that's it. And majority of those times those kids only care about their self image. They want to play lesser opponents to look "Better" and that's fine, because when you play an SEC team in a bowl game or in the NCG ( HAAAA!! Not going to happen ) anyways, or if you get drafted to the NFL your going to get exposed and that's fine... Look at Clemson's NFL stats for players playing or starting its horrible!

thats exactly what I was thinking when I was reading that. It's like the 'so many 5 stars are busts' comments, when really it's not that many but they're the big names that you remember. similar to we'll always remember cj spiller but he was more of an exception than the rule.

Clemson has nothing to do with Florida. They're not even on our radar. We don't play them, they are no threat to consistently beat us on the top players instate, and they've signed only two of the top 50 instate players over the last two years-Muschamp's only full recruiting classes. They don't "have our number". I don't know where this noise is coming from, but it's ridiculous.

The Tigers signing one or two of the top players from the state of Florida is no more relevant-or threatening-than Ohio State or Michigan coming down and doing it. If the Tigers were consistently coming down here and signing 5-10 of the top 25 instate players, then you could argue that something was wrong. But the numbers say that Clemson has only signed two of the top 50 prospects in the state of Florida over the last two years.

Florida's concerns should be Alabama, Auburn and Georgia from the SEC, and FSU. Other programs will always get a few big fish from the state of Florida, so this is nothing new. A program like Clemson, that has signed only a few of the state's top prospects over the last six or seven years, does not have Florida's number. Muschamp is dominating the state of Florida.

We are a brick wall to them. They are a blue bottle fly to us - an irritant, if you will. We only notice them when they land on our mantle piece and we get annoyed that they've flown in front of the television.

CLEMSON GETTING TOP PLAYERS IS ACTUALLY A GOOD THING FOR US:

That means that the mutts, the criminoles, the bamas nor the cocks are getting them.
With the way that Muschamp and the staff are recruiting, losing a few to Clemson should not hurt us one bit.
With Va Tech down and Miami down and possibly going down even further, the only consistent threat for the criminoles in the ACC right now is Clemson and sooner or later, they will get lucky in a season and not have that "foolish loss" to a NCState or Wake Forrest. They play each other every year, so one of them is always going to have at least 1 loss and with that one loss and their lack of strength of schedule, that will pretty much knock them out of the championship/playoff picture. Those years when Clemson wins, then we will have the opportunity to at least give the criminoles a second loss and Clemson would still have to get by the Cocks to remain in the national picture provided they are undefeated.

thedyc09 made a great point as well. Let them get their couple of players each year. It just means that nobody we compete directly with on the field is getting them, but in turn, those players eventually compete against the criminoles and the cocks.

I grew up in Travelers Rest SC, which is similar to Clemson, they have a nice campus, but to compare these two schools is like comparing apples and oranges. "They have our number" Zach needs to back up a minute and re evaluate the situation. Every class that Clemson has signed in the last six yrs they would trade with us in a heart beat for ours. That doesn't sound like them having our number. There will always be kids that go their, and take the road less difficult. I have several friends that are Alumni from Clemson and they even think that there is something going on in there football program.

UF has the #4 recruiting class right now. Clemson #20. If 20 was supposed to be our number, I'm glad they have it.

Not sure why Everytime anothe school gets a recruit we want you guys say they are buying them. Maybe we just got out recruited for that player?
