There's really no difference between calling a recruit and contacting them via Facebook. The recruit still has the power to answer. I believe a dead period should be just that; especially since its during the holidays.

The question now is how do we trust Zach versus Nick Washingtonn. I go with Zach.

Some fans were not happy with Zach "breaking" this story at this time. They figured Walker ought to have been allowed to register for classes quietly.

Looks like Walker responded saying he wasn't enrolling at UF and is flying to Bama after the UA game.
I really, really hope Zach didn't f this up for us.

This is nothing new. Every year there's an ambitious idiot trying to pull ahead in the "game" and breaks a story before it should have ever been told. Usually they get defensive too. I'll be curious to see the fallout here. Not sure we'll ever know the full story though.

Why in reference that he shouldn't have published the story? What did Zach do wrong? He never said Demarcus was flipping. He only said that he was filling out an application at Florida and that it was now a possibility that Demarcus could come to Florida. I see nothing wrong with that unless I'm missing what you are saying.

DeMarcus Walker @livinglegend_44
I am NOT applying for early enrollment at UF. Contrary to what is being reported; I will be flying to AL following the UA game to enroll!

Well I think a lot of people disagree with you. Zach should have kept this info to himself. The timing of letting that info out is not right.

Heh, Dooley actually tweeted this yesterday.

Why not just fire him? He's 100% useless.

Abolverdi is a poor man's substitute for the guys that left the Sun for ESPN. In Zach's defense though, his mail-stack does occasionally have some interesting tidbit of info... but more often than not, I swear he is just reading this board, 247 and ESPN and slapping together something in 10 mins.... I mean really. How long do you think it really takes him to put 5-6 Q&A's together? If that's what they're teaching at UF Journalism, then it's no wonder we lost that LB from Ocala that signed with Stanford for their journalism program.
Also, a fun new drinking game to play - Everytime Zach says he called someone but they didnt return his call - Take a drink.
Dooley is HORRIBLE and completely out of touch with whats going on these days... How many games did he have the Gators losing this year in his weekly pick-em... Dude should have been gone.. awhile ago... p.s. - his webcast show sucks. I rather get my football views from a drunk walking midtown, but even then, you'd have to run the gamble of one of those drunks being Dooley.
Clownshoes, all around.

Like I said in another thread, I'm glad I'm not obsessed with recruiting this year. This game is not for the faint-hearted.

if a kid really wanted to come to uf, then the reporting of him possibly enrolling should not effect his decision one bit.

I know I'm in the minority on this one, but I hope Robinson stays with his initial pledge to Clemson. I don't like getting players who say one thing, then do another. I didn't like it when guys like Patrick Robinson and Bert Reed pulled the rug out from underneath of us, and I wasn't thrilled when Fowler left the FSU coaching staff holding the bag last February. To me, it's just not right.
Yeah, you can argue that it's all part of recruiting. You can say that these kids are young, yada yada yada; neither is a good excuse. As important as recruiting has become to sustain success in college football, it's a joke.

Yes you are in the minority. Do you like that Matt Elam is on the team?
