I would rather have all this happen to #8 Arizona than to happen at Georgia or something. So just work out the issues and move on. We knew we were going to lose a game at some point.

Bling there wasnt a scramble for the ball, Rosario tried to go around Hill and Hill mugged him..after that there was a scramble for the ball. But it shouldnt have come to that, we turned it over too much at the end. The refs were terrible granted, but we still should have won period.

Florida moved the ball well and shot very well. That accounts for some of the free throw disparity. Arizona drove more than Florida. Then, in the last minute, UF got sloppy. Teams that press don't often like to be pressed themselves. And UF couldn't handle it.
A lot of great teams have left McKale blaming the refs. And Arizona did get a few home calls--as any team that plays in front of a great home crowd gets. Visiting teams have to fight through it.
As for both teams, Florida is better. The Gators are a Final Four contender. Arizona is a Sweet Sixteen team, and will need some luck/help to go farther.

It's a little early to worry about seeding. I know ESPN has their projections out during the middle of the football season, but really....
This is an elite 8 team that has a chance to make the final four. This team is not the #1 team in the country and I'm thankful we will not be overrated this early in the season.

[quote=gatornib;6245177]Wow. I can't remember the last time I've been this angry about a Florida basketball game. They can't inbounds the ball, time and time again in the last minute. And we had a timeout that we could have used. Unbelievable. When I was in junior high school, we had these things called inbounds plays. In fact, I think we had four of them. And most of them had these things calls picks. You could get guys wide open with these pick thingeys.
Terrible coaching. Terrible playing. Wooden candidate missing a critical freethrow. I understand that Billy wants to toughen these guys up, but I really don't get how this seasoned team loses the game like that. If you're trying to toughen up your team, then play Frazier II.

Calm down. lol. It was our first loss of the season and came after a long break. It is not like the team was going to go undefeated we were going to drop a game or 2 at some point.

Zona's entire offense was the 3 point line and free throws. Give zona credit for making most of them. I believe they were 18 for 21. I really didn't have a problem with the 2nd half calls, but in the first half the game was being called differently on each offensive end and that helped to keep zona in it.

They should have never been that close. Wish Pat would have tried to block that last shot.

Just like the last two Elite 8's...
Can't score an point at the end when it matters, everything the other team throws up goes in. Might as well have had Walker handling the ball at the end with the bad shot selection and myriad turnovers/bad decisions.

This was sort of my impression as well, but it still sucks. There were four or five home cooking calls that really stirred me the wrong way. That no call when Rosario was tackled and then the Tech on Yeguete for not breaking his back were among the worst calls I've seen in the last five years.

How turnovers did they have in the 2nd half. We had about 10?

How about the last play of the half that should have been a kick ball, but instead turns into 2 points for Arizona. You could argue right there was the difference in the game.

Zona is a good team. The only challenge I see for them will be nights when the 3's aren't falling, but they are solid. Hell, they could have easily beat us last year.

Been watching since I was born (so 21 years worth). The Butler game is one that sticks out to me, but other than that, which games equated to this?
