It was a tough environment and our guys played well. I think the coaches kind of tightened up a bit by not playing Frazier and Prather more. We will be fine. Tough loss for sure.

I'm having Butler flashbacks. If u don't understand how difficult it is to in bound a ball when u r being held...give it a break with the crappy

That Arizona team might not even be ranked by seasons end. Honestly, they aren't any good. We should have beaten them by 15 at least.

2 plays in the whole game. It never should have been close at that point. Refs were THE reason Arizona won.

Officiating wasn't perfect but we blew that one big time. Terrible turnovers in the final minute, missing the front end of a one and one, not cutting off the driving lane on that final shot and absolutely awful execution on our final possession.
Lessons learned. Experience gained. Move on and get better.

That happens all the time late in games. Don't blame the refs. How many times do you see a scramble play in the last 5 seconds bailed out by a foul? Almost never. Blame our inability to do a simple inbound play. There were other issues of course (missed FT in 1 and 1, 1 bad shot selection). But that crap happens. Not being able to inbound the ball was the real issue - 2 turnovers on your own baseline when you are up 4 points is what gave Arizona the lead - just complete those inbounds plays and AT LEAST you get more FT attempts. We didn't even give ourselves a chance to ice the game.
Now were our guys "mugged" on the inbounds plays? Maybe. But you still gotta do better than we did, get the ball inbounds and MAKE the refs make the call. The guys inbounding the ball were too "feeble" with their inbounds pass, and the players making cuts didn't do a good enough job to either sell the contact (for a foul) or to just fight through it.

We didn't drive enough to make them call fouls on them. It was a horribly called game but we are up by 6 with the ball and we forget how to inbound a pass. Not what you expect from an experienced team. Gave that one away

Thats not an excuse though, if the refs call this game fair we are up by at the very least 10-15 points. Sure we had two messed up played but that shouldn't be the reason we lost. Arizona is the most overrated team in the country right now, I guarantee you that much.

I'm proud of our guys for dominating 99% of this game in a tough venue on the road against a top 10 team.
As someone else said, I'd much rather have this game in December rather than March--but it still leaves you with a bitter taste in your mouth considering how blatantly biased the officials were throughout this game. That doesn't excuse our errors by any means--but it totally wiped away our defensive advantage from the first half. In the second half, we had to back off playing aggressive defense because they'd call a foul every time we did while letting them get away with anything they wanted to on the other end. Simply disgraceful.

It was abysmal.
An achilles heel that has been exposed early in the season, with an opportunity to work on getting better in that department.
I would rather have this happen now.

I'd be happy to see what our UK posters thought about the game, as well as our Arizona poster. To me, I know we should have won this game despite some bad calls and we didn't do that. That's what is disappointing.

I can't remember the last time the gators lost in Bball or football, and there wasn't a " refs suck" thread. C'mon guys, both teams played well, AZ was clutch, we weren't. Great game to watch. We are a good team

The fouls were pretty even number wise, they had more ft's because of taking it inside more.

21-8 free throw attempts. Spin that anyway you like.

You are nuts if you don't think the refs aided in this loss.

Wow. I can't remember the last time I've been this angry about a Florida basketball game. They can't inbounds the ball, time and time again in the last minute. And we had a timeout that we could have used. Unbelievable. When I was in junior high school, we had these things called inbounds plays. In fact, I think we had four of them. And most of them had these things calls picks. You could get guys wide open with these pick thingeys.
Terrible coaching. Terrible playing. Wooden candidate missing a critical freethrow. I understand that Billy wants to toughen these guys up, but I really don't get how this seasoned team loses the game like that. If you're trying to toughen up your team, then play Frazier II.
Fortunately, this isn't college football. The regular season doesn't really matter. But this game is the difference between a #1 and a #2 or #3 seed. The refs didn't help out, but our guys didn't have a clue in the last 2.5 minutes of the game. We don't deserve a #1 seed. Period.

We lost this game (turnovers, missed first free throw of 1 and 1, Boynton taking bad 3's early in the clock under 2.5 minutes remaining)....the refs kept Arizona in it.
