Wow! Duke defeated Ohio St last night? I turned in early after the 1st half!

Eric Prisbell tweeted today that Duke could take the next month off from playing games and still boast the nations strongest resume at that point. He's probably right. No question the Louisville win was big, but honestly, time will tell how big the Kentucky and OSU wins were. No question they'll end up decent wins at least and no one has close to this kind of resume.

I think they've got a very balanced team this year and one that can do it all. Quality, pass first point guard, shockingly Plumlee has turned into a great big man. He's got to be the frontrunner for NPOY at this point. I'm also really impressed with Ryan Kelly and their freshmen shooting guard Soluiman. The question, IMO, is to what degree are they already in their March/April form relative to everyone else - especially younger teams or teams getting used to players in new roles.

They are good but we match up pretty well IMO. Would be a fun game.

coach K is the best coach in the game.
its a water down year. not as many superstars. that typically changes come conference play, but the only team i've watch so far that scare me are Indiana and that's because of zeller. dude is a beast, runs the floor better than any big. they get up and down and will probably only beat themselves.

the heels will get stronger, they just don't have a go to player. this year will tell a lot about roy's coaching/lack of coaching ability. he's got some players.

we are a different team with Yeguete and Prather healthy.

Yup, and probably not just the college game either. I actually even find him likable for the most part too.

Ha, lots of teams start hot and don't get number one seeds. What if Duke finishes 5th in the ACC? Would you have them a number 1 seed anyway?

BTW, they beat UK without UK's PG. They beat UL without UL's big shot blocker. So while they have a nice resume, it is not quite as good as some are making it out to be.

I'd be scared of Indiana and Duke if we had to play in Bloomington and Durham respectively but other than that there really isn't a team/game out there that scares me.

Obviously in any away game with a respectable opponent things can get ugly quickly and I'm sure they will for us in a couple games this year but once we get to March and a neutral court I am really liking this team. I just hope I like them as much after tonight.

Great college coach, not so much for the NBA. Maybe he could be with a few years to adjust, but wait until an NBA coach gets our next team in the Olympics. You won't be seeing them not play defense or sweating a win over Spain anymore. His rotations were also pretty bad. He never did figure out the US team needed Love on the court more.

He's the best college coach today, though.

Technically Harrow is back with the team now. Cal made a statement that Goodwin is the teams PG now though. If Harrow proves to be fairly insignificant this year then your statement will essentially end up correct anyways.

The Olympic team has been great since Coach K took over. It was terrible before he took over. Part of that is the commitment to a 4 year team but much is Coach K. We finished in third place in the Olympics before Coach K and he has two golds since. Before Coach K in the Worlds we were 6th, he pulled us to third in his first tournament as coach and Gold this time around. Spain is the second best team in the world and we've put them in their place.

Us doing great in the Olympics had nothing to do with Coach K and everything to do with who we sent. We sent All-NBA players in the 90s, then Marginal NBA all-stars in 04. 00 was a mix of both. We then went back to what had us winning in the 90s.

Heck, we almost won in '04 with just Duncan. He refuses to play in the Olympics anymore though because the refs had him in the bench with foul trouble in every single game.

That's no knock on Coach K. The players love him and the culture he instilled was great, but was not a very good game coach for them.

Heck, we almost won in '04 with just Duncan. He refuses to play in the Olympics anymore though because the refs had him in the bench with foul trouble in every single game.

That's no knock on Coach K. The players love him and the culture he instilled was great, but was not a very good game coach for them.
Coach K is one of the winningest coaches in Team USA history. Someone it has to do with everything else but him? I call shenanigans. The most important part of being the coach of team USA is picking the right team and getting a bunch of egos to meld. He succeeded with flying colors.
