Damarcus Walker
Dan Quinn met with Sandalwood De Damarcus Walker yesterday. It went really well. But what are chances Gators can still him from Bama. If I'm Gators I tell him hey Kirby Smart isn't going to be around much longer. I don't think Dan Quinn is going anywhere until a Team offers head coach position. He was offered Tampa Bay D Coordinator position last year. So I don't see him going Nfl route.

one of the worst recruiting pitches I have ever heard glad you are not on the road recruiting for the team.
And talk to me when Demarcus actually takes another visit to Florida

I don't know that it's the worst but it's certainly not the best. Recruits or their advisers are smart enough to know there's at least as good a chance of Quinn leaving as Smart leaving. The last thing Quinn wants to do when recruiting is point a finger at other assistants who might leave because when he does that there's three fingers pointing right back at him.

well its also saying "hey that guy at the other school is pretty good so he is going to get a better job and leave" why bring up Bama and give them a compliment? The good recruiters show kids why they should choose their school and why its the best fit. Kids have made it clear they don't like negative recruiting it just shows you are not confident in what you have to offer.

Hey I'm not saying Dan Quinn isn't confident in his coaching ability. The guy spent 10 yrs coaching D lineman in Nfl. But I'm pretty sure Kirby Smart isn't going to be Bama D coordinator much longer.Im pretty sure coaching lie on the recruiting trail all the time. Nick Saban is lying to Derek Henry by saying he wants him as Rb I guarantee he'll be playing De or Te before long for Bama. I which Gator could get him as De

Lying is fair in love, war, and recruiting. Or at least putting a bug in one's ear in recruiting. I doubt Quinn suggesting that Smart be long at Bammer will sway the kid, but our progress this year on D demonstrates that we are in the same conversation with Bammer. Some say we had the best D in the country this year. That will get recruits' attention more than speculation on the staff.
All that said, I'm suprised that Smart is still at bammer. Maybe he has some personality "quirks" that will keep him as a coordinator as happened to Mickey Andrews. He wanted to be a HC, but nobody would hire him.

I am not trying to reduce Smart's coaching credibility at all. But, I would say the argument of him leaving would be less than at almost any other school. A Saban coached team is always gonna have a good D.
Which poses another question? What other schools could you say that about? UF is the only other that comes to my mind, defensively, because I feel Muschamp is always gonna have his stamp on the D the same way Saban does.

Cut Stewie a little slack, he's still just expressing his opinion.
And I agree with BigSlick.

I am not sure how much Walker even talks to Kirby. I know he talks to the LB coach and Saban a lot.

Take a chill pill, it's a message board, you post opinions, he gave his. You sound like someone pissed in your corn flakes.

But perhaps a wee bit harsh and curt with that first response to a post I was glad to see. Why not be happy the highly ranked recruit committed to someone else is talking to our folks? I bet you'd like to hear if our current commits were talking to rival coaches, I know I would...that's the fun of following recruiting.
The other basic rule of thumb that's proven true every year is that nothing's official till the ink is dry on an LOI.
I'm just sayin'

Until the ink dry's, you have a chance to get any recruit.
What has been said about Florida and its football ability was used as fact, but now the season has proven some to be very wrong about us.
On second thought... is sometimes the first time you have all the facts.
