Not only did he play at Kentucky his jersey is in the rafters as an Unforgettable who stayed with Kentucky when a lot of players would not. Sean Woods like Pelphrey will always have a special place with Kentucky fans. Sean is going to do good things in coaching just needs to calm down a bit. I find it interesting that many are saying things about this on ESPN but yet they hired Knight who was the king of meltdowns.

I think Poythress is going to be outstanding for them this year. Goodwin will also be a solid collegiate scoring guard. The Noel-Cauley tandem hurts you on both ends of the court and Calipari suggested as much, so they need Wiltjer to be productive at the four. We'll see how the offense functions without a decent point guard. Calipari hasn't dealt with that in awhile.
I personally like how we match up. Shotblocking is their real strength defensively, but we can space the floor with four shooters around Young or with Murphy at the five and there is just too much space to cover. It negates their biggest advantage. The fact that we have really good perimeter defenders in Wilbekin, Boynton, Prather, and Yeguete will also make life harder for Poythress and Goodwin. I also don't see them going any deeper than seven, where we will go eight and nine deep once Prather returns.

According to those in attendance, there's more to the story than most know. Evidently, Woods was upset the player was walking off the floor (instead of running) and when he told him to hustle the player responded with an F-you.
I'm not defending the tirade that Woods went on or the fact that he shoved him in the direction of the bench. Just wanted to add that he, if this report is correct, had at least decent reason to be upset.
Woods was a great player (a Pitino guy) for UK. I'd be much quicker to write off this incident if it was his first outburst towards a player as a coach. He needs to get that temper under control.

Kind of sounds like you are defending him. We get it, coaches get mad at players, but regardless the reason, there is NO excuse for this or some of the "in your face" yelling that Wood's anger uses, disguised as "discipline" coaching...disgusting frankly..
I guess with this incident going viral, MH had to "look into it"....lol

I hope Morehead State does nothing to Woods. The only reason this is an issue is because of a slow news day lol. Some are blowing this way out of proportion IMHO

I agree, Jeff. Anyone that has coached or played has been a part of worse.

Didn't seem egregious to me, a little hand in the small of the back moving him along forcefully. But he is a real in-your-face screamer, that's demeaning.

Is that you Bobby Knight??
And I have played plenty and been around plenty of coaches. That is still not acceptable behavior.

Good to see the school agreed that shoving kids may not be the proper way to teach.....one game suspension. This should put the coach squarely in the front seat for the UK job when Calipari moves on...

It was ridiculous to suspend him but I digress. Woods will always be one of my favorite CATS!
