Florida/michigan --who will have the crowd advantage
With Kansas out, and no Cinderella for the casual fan to pull for, I would expect poor attendance in Arlington today.
Florida fans don't travel well to out of state venues. Is there a large Michigan contingent in for the tourney?

Michigan and Florida both have a decent amount of alumni on in Texas, so it won't be empty, but neither has enough to create a sizable advantage.

Didn't we sell out our ticket allotment? There should at least be a base there.

Michigan fans travel well... If we can just get past Michigan and make it to Atlanta... It will home crowd for us the rest of the way...

In his postgame podcast, Dooley said the crowd for the last game was overwhelmingly pro-FGCU, anti-Gator, but that because of the setup, the seats were far back and it wasn't that loud at all. Certainly not like like a true road game.
I'm more worried about which team can find an outside shooting touch in that cavernous place.

I think there were an equal number of Michigan and Florida fans. And the Gator section was yelling, but the numbers and the venue are such it isn't loud, unless you have a contingency like Kansas or you are as obnoxious as FGCU students.
The crowd won't be a factor IMO. I will be cheering for the Gators.

I think I have just more observant after our supporter showing against Cincinnati, and Louisville in the sugar bowl, and the championship against Ohio state in Glendale. We has a fan base do not travel well at all for a huge university with huge alumni base. We have been outnumbered everywhere of late even against much smaller schools. It has nothing todo with the action on the court of course. And I'm not one to speak as I will be watching this from the comforts of home, but just an observation

The only reason we were so outnumbered in Glendale was the fact that Ohio State fans bought up all the tickets a couple weeks before we even knew we were in the game.

Pro-FGCU I understand. (Non-aligned fans always root for the underdog.)
Anti-Gator I don't understand. (We're not the bad guys. We have no Marshall Hendersons on our team. And, Donovan is a classy coach.)
I was (perhaps naively) surprised to hear that the crowd booed our team when we took the court before the FGCU game.

Even though the the FGCU game had a clear advantage in fans pulling against the Gators, watching the game and listening, it did not appear that it was a big advantage. Nothing like playing a true road venue. The Gator fans probably cheered louder and were more fervent, than the average fan there who wanted FGCU, but for really did not have a major rooting interest. I expect this game to be about even in environment, in other words, the crowd won't be much of a factor...especially in a football stadium.
BTW if UF is fortunate to make it to Atlanta..I expect we'll have the largest fan base there....just like 2007

The "crowd" didn't boo our players Friday. The FGCU fans did. They were a majority of young students and they were unbridled and loud.

FGCU "fan" support came from people wanting Florida to lose so they could get an easy win against FGCU.

I'd guess we will have as many fans there as Michigan. Agree that if we make it back to Atlanta we'll have the biggest crowd. That was definitely the case when I was there in 2007.
There are a lot of people around the country who don't like us, but I'd say its more just a carryover from football than people actually not liking the bball team.

If duke makes FF they'll have a healthy contingent, as well Louisville.
Would be awful to lose to the 'ville again....we'd be their UCLA.
