The D came to play. If this is their identity this year, I'm okay with that.

No kidding. It's SHOCKING looking at all the empty seats for a Big 10-SEC game between two ranked teams. Especially with UF's program seemingly on the upwing right now (you wouldn't know it based on attendance). Even the 2nd level is half empty.
It seems attendance just keeps getting worse and worse year after year. How is that possible? Is there really that much to do in Gainesville? How come UF could pack the house for a game like this 10 years ago but now it's not even half full?
I realize the trend nationally is for attendance to be down in major sports (economy, HDTV's, whatever), but what I see right now is just sad - THIS game should be a near sellout. At some point your attendance becomes an issue where it effects recruiting, effects the viability of the program, etc.

This time, we can't blame the students. Thought more fans would show up to a pretty good match up. I hear of how good the O'Dome was years ago. Why is it like this now? Just an apathetic basketball fan base?

Way too many turnovers. I like our attempts at the lobs but not working besides the early one

The crowd talk is a little premature, I think. Wait until football season is over and people shift their attention to basketball, and I bet it will be a lot more crowded.

Yeah, I actually see students in the THIRD level. Which is nice to see, because actually that third level is not always a guarantee for students to show up like it used to be. The students definitely showed up.
But it looks like there is a whole swath of unsold seats up behind the baskets, 10 years ago you wouldnt see this many open seats if we were playing some Patriot league school. This is arguably our best OOC game. Which is why it's so surprising to me, it's like it keeps getting worse every year and has been for the last 5+ years. Like I said I know this is happening around the country in almost every sport (pro and college). I just wonder when it will start going the other way...(also keep in mind their are programs that are seemingly IMMUNE from this phenomenon, so it will make it harder for UF to compete with them)
