I think Wilby will be fine, though I suspect during times this season we will see that Erv meant more to this team than some were willing to acknowledge.

did Mic do any cosell style play by play? e.g.: " DOWN GOES FRAZIER w/ a 3 from the corner!"

Did Ogbeuze play PG? All the freshmen playing early and often is music to my ears. Frazier 21 pts, Dillion, Ogbeuze, all can score and Devon W. played and scored but look very thin. Where is Dillman? The future looks bright at the guard positions. With Kasey Hill next year, we will have a lot of options. I know this was an overmatched opposition, but the veteran guards will have to step it up or see decreased playing time. Billy has got the 3 pt shooters he likes. Will Y. has improved his touch around the basket and making free throws. Wow! Now hopefully everybody stays healthy. Go Gators!
Thanks for all updates from fellow GC fans!

And off we go! To me, the point was that we didn't have any choices and so we were limited in the tournament as to how far we could go.
Scottie being pedestrian is not a very good sign and maybe a freshman or two will show up big. But I am more concerned that PY and Murphy did not show up for the kickoff of their farewell tour. I hope it was more a sign of early season fatigue.

I didn't watch or listen to the game. However, I'm concerned that we allowed a team like that to score 71 points on us. Is anyone else concerned about our defense? It's also a little concerning that Patric only had 2 points and 4 rebounds in 21 minutes. I hope he can get over the "looks like Tarzan plays like Jayne" this year.

Having seen none of the game, I can almost assure you that the guys who played great aren't as good as they showed and the guys that didnt' aren't as bad as they looked. All I mean by this is that its hard to tell anything from playing a team that shouldn't be on the same floor as you - especially when its the first game of the year.

My observations based upon watching the video replay and listening to Donovan's post game comments:
I was very impressed with Frazier. He can really shoot the ball and has very good size/build for a freshman. I can see him getting some playing time this year. He probably needs work defensively but his potential is easy to see even against a Div III team.
Graham also showed he could shoot the ball very well and can finish for a guy at 6-4.5. His quickness wasn't too bad but like all freshmen will need to work on his defense. In time, he can probably be a sharpshooter who can do some things in the paint, as well.
Yuguette had the best game among the veterans and looks to be improved offensively and at the free throw line where he has effectively revamped his shooting form.
It looks like Boynton is going to get 10 - 15 minutes as the backup point guard.
Obugueze showed that he has the quicks to be able to get into the paint and can shoot which are obviously big pluses for a point guard.
Wilbekin was more agressive offensively and last night, that was a bad thing. Wilbekin fell into the trap of launching 3 pointers too early in the posession...and then, missed them...
Nobody did a good job of getting Young and Murphy the ball when they were in the game.
Rosario didn't play especially well, Boynton was solid Murphy didn't have his best effort and Patric Young didn't really get very involved, last night.
Neither the defense or rebounding were particularly good but Nebraska Kearney was bailed out but some hot 3 point shooting that made the d look worse than it actually was. Florida played a ton of small ball and Prather sat out which didn't help the rebounding numbers, either.

You are of course correct. Pat and Eric will be just fine, and the freshmen will find the sledding a lot tougher against D-1 opponents.
I am a bit concerned about Rosario and Wilbekin, though. They had an opportunity last night to secure their starts, and didn't take advantage of it.

I think Wilby is secure, but Rosario is on thin ice. Our poor rebounding could pull the plug on the 3 guard lineup if Billy feels Prather would provide better potential on the glass. This will be especially true is Mike continues to turn the ball over as he did last night (4).

Agreed. Wilbekin will be fine; Rosario might be replaced very soon if he can't step it up.

With Frazier I saw a guy that is probably a good shooter (based on what I saw of his technique on Thursday) have a really good good day shooting. That's a good thing because it won't make him too shy in games like a lot of freshmen are.
I also saw a guy that was either too passive or too aggressive on D and will need a lot of coaching for that. He sure did pick up a lot of silly fouls during the game.
Overall, though, I was very impressed.
