They are holiDAYS, not holiWEEKS nor hiliMONTHS.
Going nuts and eating yourself into a coma on 3 days, with a month between each event SHOULDN'T make a single bit of difference if you are disciplined the rest of the 70-ish days that comprise the end of the year. (honestly, you don't even have to be that disciplined)
IMO, go bonkers and eat what you want... FOR THE DAY OF CELEBRATION.

I will tell you one bit of advise that I got from one of these "rules of engagement during holiday events" ... only eat what you want to eat. If you really don't like/enjoy green bean casserole, why would you put it on your plate? Just get what you REALLY want to eat.
