Alex Anzalone already enrolled?

Pennsylvania linebacker Alex Anzalone is going to become a Florida Gator, I feel very confident about that now. Anzalone, one of the top 50 prospects in the country, remains committed to Notre Dame.

However, after he took a visit to Gainesville for the Gators game against LSU, I think he's pretty much a done deal to play for Will Muschamp. Anzalone had previously committed to Ohio State but de-committed from the Buckeyes after an unofficial visit to Florida.

He then committed to Notre Dame, but took a visit to Gainesville for Friday Night Lights and then took the visit for the LSU game.

Rumor had it that there were two silent defensive commitments to come out of that game, that Anzalone had already filled out enrollment paperwork for Florida and when he cancelled his official visit to Notre Dame for the BYU game this past weekend, that pretty much sold me that this is over. Now, it's only a matter of Anzalone saying it out loud.

The whole thing is a bit crazy, of course, but the Gators were the early favorite for him. His father attended Florida and I think Muschamp and his staff was always going to be in this until the end. The good news is that this will likely be the last commitment for Anzalone.

Yeah, to be honest I was surprised that he committed to OSU and ND with his Dad's ties to here.

The state of PA has been pretty good to us lately. Floyd in 2010, Thompson in 2012, and Anzalone in 2013 if that does go through. Brendan Beal in 2008 was a pretty sought after recruit as well.

The more and more I watch his highlights the more and more I like him. At first I wasn't sure how I felt but now I really think he could be a big time player for us (if in fact he does become a gator)

He just never used that to push his son to Florida. Also, he decommitted from Ohio St because of that pedder that was showing up in recruits pictures and then mass tweeting them.

I think Father and Son alike were curious in which way our program is heading... The LSU game was probably a real eye-opener for them.

I mean, really, when Urban won his first title here, nobody saw that coming, and it was on his 2nd year with the program.... after having a quasi-dismal 1st year.... SOUND FAMILIAR?!

Anzalone has as good an offer list as anybody in the country. Would be a great addition to the class.

Brian: It may be only a matter of time before Anzalone ends up in this class. He spent three days in Gainesville (on his own dime) the weekend of the LSU game and then cancelled his official visit to Notre Dame last weekend. Rumor has it that he’s even filled out his early enrollment paperwork for UF already.

I haven’t been able to confirm that with him because he still isn’t doing interviews, but it wouldn’t shock me one bit. His dad graduated from Florida, Anzalone grew up a Gator fan and he lived out his childhood dream when he worked out in The Swamp at Friday Night Lights.

Put's a clear picture on the situation.

Look's like he'll be taking the UV to Notre Dame with his dad. But everyone believes that we are still the leader, even with him being currently committed to Notre Dame.

I don't know how I feel about them getting the last meeting... But even if he did reaffirm to the Irish... How many believe he would somehow end up in Gainesville before NSD?? I gotta believe or chances are great... even if his saga takes another twist.

Time and time again he has given the Gators the last word, and it seems like every time he leaves Gainesville, we are back on top. His early enrollment form, the one he filled out, is sitting in some drawer in some office on campus... That says A LOT.

I like what I saw on his youtube hightlight reels. He's quick for being such a big kid..and has pretty good acceleration for being 6' 3" 215lb. The kid is a baller for sure

Some news coming soon... like, tonight. Anzalone putting out a statement tonight... I think it's odd for a commit to come out with a statement after an unofficial... Why put out a press release?? To re-affirm to ND?? Just sounds odd to me... Think he might be flipping tonight. I am really hoping that his filling out of the EE papers at UF was the ominous nail in the coffin.
