Kinda the way things work sometimes. I get the feeling that a fair amount of the 2012 kids could still redshirt. I don't think Mann has seen the field, McCalister is almost definitely a RS, Jeremi Powell may be on ST but I'm not sure, Maye could RS (?), Ledbetter, Mornhinwheg, some of the Oline, etc.

yeah a decent amount of kids are red shirting. Powell and McCalister have been honored with scout team player of the week at least once this year.

I've heard McCalister was putting on weight fairly well for just being here a few months. I'm really interested to see where we put him

I think he is like 230 now so he still has a ways to go since he is 6'6 Buck/DE

Any chance we could move a OL to DT? How about T. Brown, 6'7 360 next too Orr. Does Mann go back to DT? Maybe we play more 3-4 next year. I do think Bullard at 290-295 would be great at DT.

If Brown comes to Florida it will be to play OT not DT. Mann is playing DT he was at OT for like a week then got moved back to defense. I think there is a good chance Bullard will eventually move inside to DT. Its easier to get on the field at DE than DT. The coaches dont seem too worried about DT because if they were they would have went after a JUCO a long time ago.

Or Gilmore + Mont Adams, if we're so lucky. Caleb seems like "the man" but if he chose not to be part of the class and we got those two then I'm ok- just saying. In fact, I tend to think if we did get a commit from another DT like Mont Adams we're likely to lose him anyway.
What Caleb doesn't realize is that a year into his fsu commit he and Denson may not even be hanging together.

"I've visited FSU a lot of times but I've only been to one game. It was the Oklahoma game that they lost last year and the atmosphere was crazy. I always tell the other Florida recruits that I've yet to hear it louder than that FSU game. It was crazy there."

I think if he doesn't flip before NSD, he'll do it on NSD. He trashed UF about the cornerback commitment situation, and he's all over FSU's d---. I would hardly know that he's committed to UF if not for recruiting websites, etc.

I would have to agree, with that, if he weren't listed with our guys as a commit, and I had to guess where he went, it would be the nolies for sure.

Brantley is a drama-queen. But we've all known that for months now.
He isn't flipping. I doubt he even takes 3 visits to FSU like others have posted. I think his parents really want him here. I thought he would have decommitted after we let Tre Bell go, but I think, really, you could have substituted Tre Bell with any other kid on the roster and he would have had the same reaction.
He REALLY wants to play with Denson. And Denson, to me, is a Defensive minded guy who wants to play OL so he can manhandle other Defensive minded guys. I can't remember the last time we had a guy with that mindset on the OL.
But, to reiterate, no matter what Brantley says, his parents will have him leveled off soon after. He'll be here this weekend, with Denson I assume, and after we beat South Carolina with all of our recruits there, he'll more than likely go quiet for awhile.
And really, I am not writing off Denson just yet. Even with Dawson's OV coming up. *IF* Denson shows up this weekend then I think the door isn't shut on him.
We need inside guys bad. Well, not too bad, but we will after next season, as most, if not all, of our veteran inside guys will be gone. It would be nice to pull in 3-4 kids to learn from our inside OL before they are gone.

still cant figure out why Stomp thinks we need another inside guy when Florida will soon have 3 committed. But he is right every time Caleb says he is going to check out another school his mother and coach reel him back in. The one problem is Tallahassee is not that far away and maybe just maybe they would let him go there.
That being said no reason to bad mouth him he just wants to go to where he feels is best for him.
While I do think Florida has a shot with Gilmore and Adams Keep dreaming people. Also if Gilmore and Adams wanted to come to Florida the staff would like to take all 3.

Mainly strategy.
It's been awhile and Trent Brown hasn't committed yet. I hope he does, but honestly, that's the _only_ OT I see us taking... unless we offer a lower ranked OT right before NSD. I am still counting him among future Gator commits. But I am losing hope by the day... Taking Brown makes a lot of sense... We have our OT Ace in Humphries who will be playing for another 2-3 years. Bringing Brown on board gives us a 2-year bandaid, and that's great when we are selling early time to the top OT's for 2014.
We need a Center, no need to argue that point. Cameron Dillard is as good as any other Center around. Kublanow would have been the guy to get, but he is very content staying home in Georgia.
Taking 5 OG's in the next 2 years will negate the fact that we have 5 inside guys leaving after 2 years. Keeps equilibrium. We were in an uproar before last season because our OL was small. It's back to a very respective form, but we need to keep adding to it, we have to keep throwing bodies in that machine.
To me, Denson and Dawson are the two best guys we could get this cycle. Obviously, Dawson is the better of the two, and the most likely to commit. But Denson has everything going for him that makes me think he'll be a Gator... For starters, he is one of FSU's best players committed, and anytime we have that opportunity, then why not take it?? Brining Denson on shut's up Brantley for the rest of the year... and as some people have argued (not me tho), Brantley may be the single most important guy in our class. And the fact that Denson will flip on the dime if he were offered... I feel like this is why it is taking forever.... The coaches know he is a 100% flip, so why rush it?? Work some other guys (a WR and Defensive guys mostly) and try to work out the numbers in the meantime.
Looking to the future, we could potentially only take 3 really good OL recruits next year and be done. Though McDermott and Brumfeld are longshots... I would be VERY VERY content to just get those 2 guys +1 OL. McDermott's brother in Miami worries me, but you never know where a kid is going to go, and with the sanctions possibly coming down, this could sway him our way. Then again, sanctions wouldn't be an issue as he would be one of the top 3 kids they will take next year, possibly the best.

The coaches like Jackson better than Denson, that's why he is there.

Stomp Brown still needs to take a visit to Arizona before he is ready to make a decision he might even take a trip to Georgia. Also I do not think the staff will take Browns commit until they figure out the deal with Tunsil Moore's commit changed everything we no longer are desperate for a tackle commit just would like to take one. There are a lot of Oline recruits next year its real early.

Well, that doesn't necessarily have to be true. Jackson was a guy that nobody had on their board but our coaches were very high on him. He was one of the names that they held close to their chest. And when Outlaw decommitted, Jackson became an instant offer.
I believe Jackson to be better than Outlaw. So we won that battle. But I still see Denson and Dawson above Jackson talent-wise, for being Offensive Guards. I think what Jackson has going for him is he is a smart young man who is 6'4"/285, he has very decent size to play any position on the OL. While many have him pegged as a Guard, I think he could very feasibly play OT. And he may have to if we don't pull Trent Brown or another good OT option. But more-so, I see Jackson as an overall versatile OL who we can plug in at a couple positions for depth. With that role, he is bound to see early playing time. We have had guys like that at Florida forever.
Denson is more of a straight up Guard. He has a mean streak... this is the type of guy that thrives on being pitted up against good competition. His style of play and the fact that he can manhandle a lot of D's is the type that adds to the overall identity of the Line as a whole.

I really like Jackson he doesn't have the feet for tackle but he is a very athletic guard and will be great at pulling
