Calling Mr. Rodriguez
I can't find confirmation on the web, but the insider board is reporting that the Dodgers have called up Paco!

From Dodgers website:
Dodgers transfer Chad Billingsley to 60-day DL
The Los Angeles Dodgers today transferred right-handed pitcher Chad Billingsley to the 60-day disabled list (right elbow pain) and selected the contract of left-handed reliever Steven Rodriguez from Double-A Chattanooga.
Didnt take Paco long. Zunino wont be far behind

Wow, guess I'll have to be a Dodger fan for awhile with Paco and Mark Ellis both on the team.
Not related, but dodgers at least need to make a wild card spot with all that money they've spent, or somebody's job could be in question.

Several people here pegged him as one of the first players from this draft to reach the big leagues. Nice call guys.

Two Gator lefties in the bigs in a week, not bad.
That reminds me ---anybody got an update on how another lefty, Kevin Chapman, is doing. Last I heard he was in the Astros organization in AA and pitching pretty well. God knows the Astros need help. Maybe they will call him up and make it a trifecta.

Paco apparently made his MLB debut yesterday, facing one batter, throwing three pitches (all strikes) and getting him to ground out to first.

Paco's second game: he came in with two on, two out, and struck out the three-hole batter on 3 pitches to keep it a one-run deficit for his team.

I was kinda hoping to see Paco pitch at the Mack for another season ... along with Hudson Randall, Brian Johnson and Austin Maddox. That would have made for a hell of a senior class along with Nolan Fontana and Mike Zunino. Oh well. We'll have to enjoy their talents in the majors then.
