I don't think that's what he said at all. I read that he said that he was impressed with our win over LSU. Then the same with our win over USC, but our status with his recruiting hasn't changed because of those two games. Just wait. If he picks us great. If he doesn't, just as well. Just let our coaches pick the best players they can, including Tunsil. If it doesn't work out so be it.

From Zach's recruiting column...
"One recruit who won’t be picking UF anytime soon is five-star offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil. His statements in my recruiting weekend rewind generated a lot of opinions from Gator fans in the comment section of my blog.
Several readers asked me why the Florida coaches keep letting him visit if he has no interest. First of all, he is not costing them any money or resources. Tunsil’s last two trips have been on his own dime and he’s not taking away a seat from anybody, although he may be blocking a few folks with his 6-foot-6 frame.
But the bottom line is, if I’m Will Muschamp and the nation’s No. 1 offensive tackle wants to attend my game, I welcome him with open arms. Even though Tunsil says he
wasn’t swayed by the last two wins at home, there was a chance it could have happened and that’s why you let him come.
If he wants to officially visit later this year, you better believe Muschamp would love to have him back. Even though Tunsil is frustrating for a lot of fans, Muschamp has a job to as a recruiter and representative of UF, and he’s not going to ruin a relationship with a kid, his teammates (possible future prospects) or his high school coaches just because he isn’t high on the Gators."

Nobody asked him... People were calling out Tunsil a scumbag, a liar, no talent, give up on him, in the comments. Why are we still recruiting him? Because he is a good kid from lake city who has been nothing but honest with the coaching staff, the media, and the fans. And people just can't take it that he doesn't have us in his top 2. These people are such boneheads. He isn't burning his bridges with the coaches ala Derrick Henry, so why should we burn our bridges with him? If something happens and he needs to be closer to home, we will still be here, and I think we welcome him with open arms, instead of him going to FSU or Georgia. I made a comment as such because these fans are absolutely unreasonable, and may even be pushing people away. Notre Dame did that with Anzalone as well, sending him hate mail after he visited UF... Lets not be those "fans" please

True.
People get frustrated because they want him to be a Gator and they can't believe why he wouldn;t want to be one. My guess is that he lives in Lake City and wants to get the heck away from home and be on his own.
I myself got frustrated with him, but lets also understand that as long as he's coming down on his own dime it's o.k. with me. We can't afford to tick the kid off and it get back to all of his HS teammates and then burn that bridge.

I know laremy personally. He's in my math class at the highschool, I constantly tease him about being a gator he just chuckles and smiles. He's really down to earth, none of this seems to have went to his head. He's a really nice guy and would give you the shirt off his back. he's just being honest when he says nothing has changed. Not rude. The ONLY football thing from a school he wears is a FLORIDA GATOR lanyard(I know that isn't substantial) but he has never wore anything bammer or from UGA. He grew up a gator and talks good about Us! If we beat UGA it will be HUGE with him(he wants to contend for championships; very competitive) location hurts us. Just like another poster said he wants to get the hell away from here. Lake City is only 30 minutes for g'ville. It was the same thing with Timmy Jernigan(grew up a gator, just wanted to get far away) another thing worth noting is that our math teacher is his o-line coach(there very close) and he's a HUGE gator. So there is still a chance, not a big one, but a chance nonetheless. GO GATORS BEAT THE POODLES!

Appreciate your comments about Tunsil...
Glad to know that he thinks and feels favorable about the University of Florida.
But I can understand how someone would want to get out of Lake City...
(As for Jernigan... well... he did not go THAT much further... Tallahassee????)
Keep us in the loop.
Who knows, maybe we wind up beating the Poodles and getting to the SECCG and it impresses Tunsil so much that he goes with the Good Guys?
I mean... we have a tremendous Offensive Line Coach!
One will NFL experience....

It will be a shocking hat dance on or near NSD...I'm telling you, this kid has such an original routine planned. Reaching for one hat, then backing away, then reaching for and picking up another hat...oh my God I can't believe he picked them!!!...no wait he's setting it back down, what a prankster he is!!!, now what's this?!!?? From under the table and entirely new hat??!!...holy smokes I never ever saw that coming!!! Amazing!!!
Gator!!!

Thanks for posting. I had this feeling all along, and I respect his decision to want to leave the N Florida area. I'm from NY, lived in S Fl for 5 yrs, then I spent 12 years in Gainesville. Thats why my name is LA Gator Doc, will always be a Gator but I needed to get out after 12 yrs. I can imagine living your first 18 yrs there. You may want to go somewhere else for a change. I hope not, but it may happen. So I think we should respect his decision, especially since he has been so honest with us and hasn't been stringing us along. If he has a change of heart and wants to stay at the last minute, I am all for that

Who's disrespecting him? All I've seen is its time to move on. He doesn't want to be a Gator.

With his clearly stated and oft repeated lack of interest and enthusiasm over the Gators, it is not difficult to imagine that if we were to somehow get him that he would have to have a major attitude adjustment. Not sure we shouldn't just move on. Having said that, I trust the coaches.

why would he need a attitude adjustment if he picked the Gators?

Sounds like outright disinterest to me.
That's OK if it is. Everybody is not meant to be a Gator.
So let's not dither about the kid.

He's probably referring to entitlement or the whole 5 star I'm better then everyone else attitude that we see and hear about so much; not saying Laremy is like that.

Well, if in the end he does, great. But I'm starting to wonder if he does have an attitude of some kind that's perhaps even unfavorable to a team at the next level. From what I know, which is only what I hear, read, and sense from being on the board, he has some kind of attitude. Would it be so difficult to say "I like the Gators, always have, but am looking around to make the best decision"?

never read or heard about any real attitude problems about Tunsil. Why would he need to say that?
