To think he doesn't know what or where he's going is being naive. The kid is playing the game and enjoying every minute of it. Try not to get to caught up in it.

why would I get caught up in it its a 17 year old kid? So how many kids that "play the game" know where they are going? Or is this just a Laremy thing? LOL , too much time before signng day even if he has an idea of where he wants to go.

How many of us... LAST YEAR... thought that Dante Fowler was, "playing the game"?
The whole nation of China... PLUS the island of Taiwan believed that Fowler was playing us and would wind up going to the Nolies.
I have been following recruiting for over 30 years... and I know I believed that.
Well... he certainly surprized everyone.
Tunsil may very well wind up going to Georgia (sad to have a Lake City player do that)... but... who knows... he may come to his loyalty and wind up with the Orange and Blue.

For a guy like Tunsil there is no "spot". If he comes you take him and you figure out the roster spot later.
|
I didn't say I knew for sure what tunsil was going to do, I'm speculating, just like you and so many others are doing.
But on another note, I used to be deep into all of this recruiting stuff up until about 2003 - '04 and and had many, many recruiting contacts, and many here know that I was pretty accurate with a lot of own personal predictions. I wasn't right every time, but I had a pretty good average to say the least. That said, I got a pretty good feel for the recruits in what they're saying.
I like Muschamp and I know he has shown he can sway a guy at the last second, but I'm also realistic in the fact that I know how good a recruiter Nick Saban is too. I would take Muschamp over Richt any day IMO, but Saban is a tough customer to beat, and personally, I think Tunsil ends up at Bama whehn all is said and done.

So you realize that if Laremy wants in the class the staff will find a way to fit him in?

He doesn't want in, though. And he more than likely won't be any closer to us come NSD.
If we have 5-6 OL come NSD, he is out of luck... God-given talents aside, he is just another kid, no different from any other kid who gives us their commitment. If we don't have room for him then we don't have room for him, it's really that simple. Couple that in with all the other stuff we have been hearing -- doesn't want to play on the opposite side as Humphries, want's early playing time _handed_ to him, kinda a primadonna, a major player of "The Game". His stars and his rankings have gone to his head, as it often does to guys who may be over-ranked... We have a few 5*'s who haven't lived up to their potential, a couple of these guys _might_, but the majority will not... No need to add 1 more.... Time to move on.
I've been wrong before, most of us have at some time or another. For example, I was saying we had no chance to land Fulwood, but then the Jville Connection kicked in and just like that we added him and it's looking like he will stick with us to NSD. So I guess take anything anyone says on these boards with a grain of salt... If I was betting tho, I wouldn't have put money on Fulwood... Tunsil, on the other hand, I am willing to place a big bet, big enough to get a free hotel room and a comped dinner.

Looking at the "can't miss" guys from the past few years gives me the impression that the attention they all get has amplified to such a degree that they under perform fairly frequently. Especially the ones who have dragged crap out to NSD or beyond.
See Seantrel Henderson, and Terrell Pryor as examples.
They are probably both good players, but the expectations they had as recruits, far outweighed their contributions as individuals.
If this guy is giving the Gator Coaches no sign of life, I'd cut bait.
Now if we are third in his temporary list, he wants all his visits and he complies with whatever the coaches need, I will welcome anyone we end up with.

elron Pryor underperformed? I will take Jadeveon Clowney & De'Anthony Thomas
Stomp - like you have said you have been wrong before. I dont think we get him but the staff knows way more than we do. While I believe kids should not worrry about the depth chart I cant fault him for it.

I didn't say you in particular. Once again the word naive comes to mind when reading your post. To pretend the players who are basking in the spotlight haven't the slightest clue to where they are going is crazy. I thought you followed recruiting? Well at least the tweets any way.

The knowledge was there before he flipped. You just didn't know. No shame in that

maybe I need to go back and look at my post who said he doesnt have the slightest clue? These kids change their mind all the time I am sure you know that. Should Florida just stop recruitng kids that dont have Florida in their top 2?

Not at all. My point is he's playing the game, when as of now, he knows where he's going. It would take a miracle to steer him away.
