So Are We Done With Davis?
Haven't heard anything lately, and apparently there's no home visit if the kid's not going to even listen. What's the word, are we done? If so, can we call this kid what he is?

Done.
He got bad advice, but I never faulted him for trusting his family, those who should be the ones looking out for his best interest. I mean, of course he's going to believe his brother's side of the story over some coaches he's know for less than a year.
But I'm now one of the many bitter Gat fans towards Mike since I've seen him bad-mouthing UF and trying to get JaFar to de-commit.

Yeah, I saw the G-ville Sun's blog too, and this kid has really disappointed me with his attitude. His brother James was apparently behind most of this and no one lied to Mike.
Was hoping we could turn Mike back but when you are seduced by the Dark Side, it's almost impossible to come back.
Hope this kid eventually learns a good lesson from this as he gets older and matures.

Yeah we are done with Davis. People have tried interacting with him through Twitter by saying things like "you and Jafar (mann) can be teammates at Florida next year" and he replies with short/bitter responses such as "no lol".
Just this week after Florida signed Salt and Jacobs at DT, he tweeted at Mann telling him that Florida already has 4 DT's in this class.

As I said on another thread, I was on Davis' side in this whole thing. But between visiting the school that's going to sign the running back we weren't allowed to recruit and his petulant comments on Twitter, I've pretty much lost my sympathy.

From what I've read FLA is done with him and will now focus their RB options on next years class and pull another one from next years very deep state of florida crop

Is Jafar Mann being swayed at all by this nimwit?
Only way I'd have sympathy for this guy is if he suffered a career-ending knee injury.
Not.

No Mike Davis tweeted to Jafar that we have 4 DT committed basically trying to get him to decommit. Jafar laughed about it and said he is 100% Gator.

Done but I still wont wish a kid ill will because he chose family over our coaches. I do however want him to be go to Clemson or be a Vol because I dont want the Gators to play against this kid with a team that has a good O line. Big loss but we will be fine

Kid is only 17 and the young make immature and emotional decisions. Wish him the best, but he definitely went about it the wrong way. The sad truth is that I think he could have started at RB for us by end of season and would have looked great running back kicks for us on special teams as well. I think kid was more worried about Taylor coming in next year than anyone on the team at current time.

Yeah we moved on. We still get Matt Jones and then in 2013 it's all about Taylor anyways.

Problem is, even though Fred Taylor is his father, he isn't a Gator lock. Taylor has been watching Bama and could be swayed up there.

UF is behind for Taylor. We will have to show him a lot of love and then show him an offense that will make him believe he belongs at UF.
Good news is that we are in it for a lot of other good RBs in and outside of Florida.

^^^^Greg Reid has got 2 wins over Florida and a Chic fil-a Bowl win, so it's not like he did that much better at FSU. He's gonna hate himself if we win the SEC next year...
