I'm not surprised Maronde is pitching well. He was the best pitcher in a bullpen that included the likes of Maddox, Steven Rodriguez, Desclafani and a host of other great arms. Great stuff from the left side.

Paco has a 0.00 ERA in 5 innings pitched with one save so far pitching for the Great Lakes Loons.
Minor league baseball has some great team names.

Paco went straight to A-ball too, rather than the short season rookie league. College relievers typically have the shortest path to the big leagues anyway, so if the Dodgers just plan on keeping Paco as a lefty specialist, he should be one of the first players from last year's draft to make it.

DoubleDown11,
Agree. I've said this since mid-season. He is a match up nightmare for a lefty.
Not a bad role to fill; situational guy on a MLB roster. I will be watching to see if he moves up to AA once all the trade deadline fall out is over. Keeping my fingers crossed for him and all the other boys.

Z is up to Double A already, and there's talk he may get a call to the show at the end of the year: Link

Catcher Mike Zunino was drafted third overall in this June's draft by the Seattle Mariners. He signed quickly and was assigned to Low Class-A Everett in the Northwest League, where the backstop has done nothing short of rip the league apart.
Over just 29 games and 110 at-bats, Zunino has hit .373-10-35 with 10 more doubles, while putting up an OBP of .474 (18 walks to 26 strikeouts). The power, average, and walks mean an OPS of 1.210. While a promotion could be in the works, expect him to start at High-A next year, then get a long look at Class-AA.
Zunino has a resume that seems Safeco-bound by 2014 at the latest, with Jesus Montero looking more like a future DH.

Paco has been called up to double a as well. In 6 games at double a he has a 1.59 era with 1 save and 8ks.

Nolan Fontana is only hitting .225 in A-ball, but he's walked 44 times in 33 games, so his OBP is .470.
Tucker is raking in a short season rookie league, but he's pretty advanced for that level, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him get some ab's at a higher level before the season is out.
