There's more than a good chance that he flips. Read between the lines...

GatorCountry is the best Gator Sports board, and also the most conservative.

I was trying to be somewhat positive about the whole thing. Sorry about that.
I read the article and it sounds like he likes the Florida coaching staff. Remember, all kids have good things to say about their visits, in-homes, unofficials, camps, etc...he just had a good meeting with Grantham, from what it sounds. He'll meet with the UF coaching staff before all is said and done.
I just think he sticks. Nothing in recruiting is absolute to the LOI gets faxed in, but I think Riles stays.

I hope you are right. I think if he does visit them on 2/1, then he probably ends up flipping. Muschamp already used his in home. Perhaps we could send some assistants out this week to try to talk him out of that visit.

Why?
Riles is starting to get the attention that might make him forget UF staff been with him all this time and that's what makes it dangerous.
Quote:
The 6-foot-4, 265-pounder who has been committed to Florida since last summer said that Grantham “made it clear” that there was a UGA scholarship available for Riles, if he wanted it. “(Grantham) told me that Georgia is where I need to be,” Riles told the AJC on Thursday night. “He told me where I would be in the rotation and on the depth chart. He also said going to UGA would be good for my marketability.
“I’m majoring in communications, and going to Georgia would play in my favor for a career in that. I plan to move back to Atlanta after I finish college.”
|
Hopefully he has his head together and appreciates that the staff has been with him during the process and that a degree from UF and playing ball at UF will do as much or more for him over the long haul. But my worry is that UGA could have been his "dream" and he forgets UF recognized early his potential early and offered.
I imagine our staff is going to ask him, in some form, if he wants to go to a school that targeted other guys for so long and all but left him out of their recruiting process to this point.
I wonder if UGA wishes they had gone after Kelsey Griffin harder, or if they are trying to flip him as well now.
Anyone think this may mean Clemson or UF seems set to get Mont Adams?

We've shot our guns with our visits and now he wants to go shop around. I don't think so. That's exactly what UGALY wanted. They get to wait on Adams as they are #2 and they get the chance to flip Riles on the final weekend. If he visits starting with UTn this weekend, I hope we have a backup plan and we execute it. If not, we need a backup plan. This is the frustrating part about following recruiting.

Andrew Spivey @AndrewSpiveyGC
#Florida defensive end commit Antonio Riles tells me he will NOT visit #Tennessee this weekend despite reports saying he will.

Did Andrew not ask about the UGALY story in the AJC with his quotes about having doubt and a possible visit to UGALY on the last weekend?

The so called AJC will spin any possilbe story to made UF look bad. ANY story of a UF player arrested, suspended, or even benched automatically gets headline news of the first page. Any contact with a UF recruit no matter how small is breaking news. It wouldnt surprise me if the chief editor of that 'newspaper' is related to Dooley or Richt.
