Well, they can tell their little fairy tale any way they want; what I know is Walton has gotten a lot of respect from Gators and rival fans alike for his firm stand on doing what's right, even at the expense of the team's post-season.
Takes a lot of guts, not to mention no small amount of self-sacrifice, to dismiss 3 starters in the regionals of the NCAA tournament (knowing you're likely ending your season) for the sake of righteousness.

thought it wasn't racial, but involved players of differing race so some construed it that way - but it was more about sexual preference(s) (?)

Honestly, no one seems to know, and no one who knows seems willing to say anything concrete.

They may indeed be good kids who made a poor decision, but playing the victim card is tired and pathetic. Grow a pair. If you were released for no reason, then you have the legal system on your side. That was not the case. So if you read this and want the rumors to stop, address your actions that got you dismissed. Fagan's take after their dad, and ultimately, while they are adults, his coddling is to blame. There is a reason Walton didn't recruit the 3rd fagan. All 3 are a chip off the old block, Sami and kasey hid it better than Haley. maybe the sense of entitlement will wash away having to sit out a year. I don't expect a warm welcome when they return to Gainesville. The program and uf are better off without them.

Great post. Couldn't agree more.

I live in Missouri and they are excited to get Fagan. Very excited. The Mizzou coach said when asked why he got her and I am summarizing here, that some coaches don't know how to handle super stars. We need to have coach W watch that tape.

Gatorcal, there is no link because it was an interview on KMOU, Channel 8 in Columbia. KMOU is the j-school's TV station. It has professional anchors like Chris Gervino for sports who did the interview. But most of the stories and done by j-students. One of the reasons why Mizzou's j-school is so good. Gator in Georgia, Fagan was no 250 hitter. She was the gator's leading hitter at 386. She is a star, maybe a troubled star but a star. Coach Earlywine is kind of a loose cannon but he did sign C. thomas when nobody else wanted her.

That's a pretty condescending statement from him. We don't have these situations often enough for him to say Walton can't handle superstars. It's not like Walton kicks out great players regularly. And if he has no problem taking her with the team issues she's had here good for him.

The reason no one is posting what they know is twofold:
1. It will get taken down.
2. It's second and third hand knowledge most likely. How to you expose something you heard and didn't witness if it could be wrong? Even if it comes from a great source?
I heard the story from a very good source, but again it's just a person close to the program who repeated a story. It definitely sounded right - as in, the things I have read here (that were taken down) and on other boards were mostly substantiated and put in context.
Just suffice it to say that the story is NOT a good one. And it has to do with racism, lying, entitlement, fighting and all around poor judgment (I'd like to say poor character, but I don't know the girls personally. Though I will say that hearing the story made me question the character of these girls.).
It's never good to see a program this strong crumble in this way, however, in the long run this team will be stronger for it. I cant wait for next season when these great young athletes show what they can do with a year or two of experience under them. But damn, I'm going to miss watching Moultrie play

Come on, our résumé speaks for itself. You guys have covered the SEC. You've seen where we've played, who we've played and the quality of football teams we've beaten. We'll play anyone anywhere."

This pretty much sums it up. When people say things like "it involves racism" they're basically attacking someone's character without substantiating any of the claims (despite the fact that others "close to the program" have refuted such claims). What's the purpose of that, and how would you feel if it was done about you? Sometimes we're such gossip mongers that we forget to treat people like human beings.
