I keep seeing chapelle and while I agree its definitely missed let's not pretend it was canceled. Comedy central wanted it on the air til the end of time and dave walked away.
As for deadwood again it was the creators decision and not the networks. We were given everything we were going to get from that show.

Even though was was probably "cancelled" (as compared to "concluded" by a creative decision, like Lost, Chappelle, etc.), they did a wonderful job ending this show. While NBC sucked for putting it on a night when the target audience isn't watching (because it's so "cute" to have Friday Night Lights on Friday night), then cancelling it for failing to obtain the ratings they wanted, at least they let it end properly (something that the D-bags at Fox never do when they dump shows before giving them a real chance to succeed).

That being said, things went downhill fast in the second season. The stories became pretty trite and the interesting science was largely recycled and replaced with the personal relationships of the characters, that weren't actually that compelling (their relationships, not the characters themselves).
But if it could have maintained that first season feel, I agree, this was a major entertainment loss.

Fox gets a bit of a bad rep because they cancel a lot of shows that people love. But they do take risks and are giving us 5 seasons of fringe when no other network would be as kind.

Eureka final season is airing now and its probably for the best as really how much more could they do with the story. At least warehouse 13 will still be around and is much fresher.

I still miss Firefly and Farscape as well as a number of other shows already listed and a few others besides.
When we were at ComicCon in SD last year, we made it into the audience for Eureka and the announcement was made that they would be back for more seasons. Then, immediately after we returned home, they announced that the final season would be six episodes and the show was cancelled after that.
It'll kill me if/when Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead are cancelled...

I actually liked the new "Bionic Woman" show. Kind of surprised they pulled the plug without even giving it a chance to find an audience.

I liked V -- original plus new one. I guess I like fighting off aliens taking over the world. As long as they don't cancel Walking Dead, life is good. :-).

The cancellation of CBS’ freshman drama Unforgettable was one of the closest calls this upfront season. Now the procedural starring Poppy Montgomery and Dylan Walsh is exploring a move to cable. I’ve learned that producers Sony Pictures TV and CBS TV Studios have had preliminary conversations with TNT and Lifetime about potentially picking up the series. Unforgettable, which centers on Carrie Wells (Montgomery), a New York detective with the ability to visually remember everything, would make sense for both TNT and Lifetime. TNT has had a lot of success with female-lead cop procedurals with The Closer and Rizzoli & Isles. Lifetime has tried hard to launch one with two recent series, The Protector and Against The Wall, both of which were cancelled after one season. Turner has been the most open to rescuing broadcast series with NBC’s Southland going to TNT and most recently Cougar Town moving to TBS.
When asked what went wrong for Unforgettable to warrant the cancellation after a relatively solid first-season run, CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler said the question is not “what went wrong with Unforgettable but what went right with the new pilots.” Unforgettable averaged 12 million viewers and a 2.5 among adults 18-49.

Nice call!
I'll add these:
The Critic
Dr. Katz
Buffalo Bill
The Slap Maxwell Story
Drexell's Class
The George Carlin Show
Dream On
It's Garry Shandling's Show
Ned & Stacey
Get a Life
Herman's Head
Charlie Hoover (this was a truly inspired show)
Flying Blind (great show, in additoin to introducing most of the world to Téa Leoni)
You'll note most of these shows were on Fox.
They get great props for bringing all these and other great shows to air...and equal barbs for being so myopic and impatient for yanking them all before they even had a chance.
