I really like the Mazda 3, considering getting one. How did you like it and how well did it hold up for you?
Anyone else have any experience with the Mazda 3?

I drove a Mazda 3 rental a few years ago and liked it alot. Good utility, and the handling for a car in that segment is probably the best, which is what I really liked. Pretty good on gas, too.

short list for me too - I have kept my cars for a while so far:
1991 acura integra (served me very well through college/grad school and a couple years after)
2002 subaru wrx wagon (still going strong and a fun car to drive that can still be good for trips to places like home depot or ikea)

Not sure I remember the year of each car, but this is close. Man, we've went through a lot of cars in 35 years.
1973 Gran Torino - First car in HS from dad
1976 Pontiac Firebird bought new
1981 Pontiac Trans Am - V8 but carb didn't do well. Bought new
???? Ford Grenada - Wife's car when we got married. Horn on turn signal stalk a disaster
1966 Porche 912 - No not a 911, it's 4-cylinder brother. Like a short VW bug with similar performance, but still a Porche. Inherited.
1979 Ford Thunderbird - Not a good era for the T-bird.
1984 VW Jetta - Great car, best manual transmission I've ever had. Bought new
1986 Ford Taurus Station Wagon - Started the family. A pretty good car overall. Bought new
1986 Olds Something. Big and cheap
1988 VW Jetta
1992 Ford Probe Turbo - fun car
1996 Ford Windstar minivan - family traveling continues
1989 Lincoln Continental
1989 Lincoln Town Car
1992 Ford Bronco
1992 Ford Ranger
1994 Ford Explorer
1999 Mercury Mountaineer - Son's car
1999 Ford Explorer - Still own
1994 Subaru Legacy Wagon - Daughter's car
1999 Dodge Ram
2004 Hyundai Sonata - bought new
2006 Hyundai Elentra - Daughter's car bought new
1999 BMW Z3 - Still own
2011 Chrysler 300 - Still own bought new

Of all the cars, the GTI has been the best experience of driving and comfort.

considering im a volkswagen tech, its good to hear people actually liking their vehicle rather than complaining about them. this is true for any manufacturers techs though. if you ever have any questions about your vehicle, just let me know

1. '92 Cadillac Seville - Grandfather died and parents let me use it as a high school car
2. '89 Mazda 6 - first car ever purchased. Bought it for $800 and after an alternator replacement this car worked awesome until the transmission failed two years later.
3. '89 Chevy Celebrity - bought this for a Taco Bell Burrito. Literally. My enlisted Air Force friend was handed a two year assignment to Korea at the last minute and had to unload his ride. He wanted $200 for it, but after I helped him box and mail his stuff he instead had me buy taco bell for him while we signed it over. Best car I've ever had.
4. '02 Nissan Altima - this deal went south fast. Never buy a with a cracked windshield car off a dirt lot. But after about $1500 of repairs this has been an awesome ride, although my Dad and Brother use it more than I do.

I spent a large amount of the last three days in the Mazda dealership in Gainesville before purchasing a CX-5. I will say that Bobby was very enjoyable to deal with and didn't overly pressure me into purchase. I will also say that I looked at a bunch of Mazda 3s while my wife was looking at cars. They really are a nice little car especially with the new Skyactiv technology. They have a pretty much fully loaded one in the showroom that is still only 22k. Great car and you can haggle pretty well with them.

I have to update my list, my 99 XLT 4x4 just took a dump, and its parked, so I've had to get another truck.
Got a sweet little 02 S-10 SS, its my daily driver now, and man I didn't realize how much gas I was putting in that monster of a 4x4 until i stopped driving it.

95 Chevy blazer my first car got it in 97 when I turned 16
01 Ford Lariat first new vehicle I bought
03 Ford Lariat
08 Jeep Wrangler
09 Chevy silverado Z71
11 Chevy Suburban
And about 60 trucks for my company over the years. Chevy s-10's held up to 300,000 miles. Ford rangers did about the same. Chevy silverado's and ford f250's were good until 250,000. Big diesel isuzu's will last for about 500,000 miles. Have some new Nissan frontier and Dodge full size pickups that are pretty good so far. Being work trucks that employees abuse I was happy with the results I've gotten over the years. Especially with the smaller trucks
