Great news. Can never have too many big eaters in the trenches. Out of curiosity what were his specifics like rank, offer list, etc? Just curious.

Meyer and Muschamp are a far cry from the Spurrier days. Remember when we'd have like eight commits, the day before NSD, and would be sweating bullets ?

Ivie has a non-stop motor and is extremely strong, from what I've heard on him. Great pick-up.....

I don't care what anyone says. Those numbers, if legit, are damned impressive for a highschooler.

The 375 bench and 315 Clean and jerk were recorded @ a state qualifier weightlifting meet held in March 2012, where he finished 1st in the heavyweight division. The 670 squat was recorded in the football weightroom.

Everybody will gush over any recruit who commits to us so that's no surprise. The coaches are taking a lot of kids early who are not rated as highly by the scouting services (though his offer sheet in this case is encouraging). I've always said I will not complain about taking a lower rated kid early because if we took them early then that means the coaches really wanted him rather than desperately had to settle for him after the ones they really wanted got away. I just hope they're right.

If you watched his film, what do you think? I watched enough to believe he's fast and instinctive, obviously strong. Strikes me more as a DE, but who knows, he could end up at NT if he gets bigger/stronger.
Anyone have an idea what level OLs he plays against? If he's blowing up good OLs now he has a great chance of doing it at UF.

Die, I thought he was a NT all the way, but in a recent GatorCountry article, Ivie states that Muschamp is recruiting him as a DE. No doubt he'll be a inside/outside guy @ UF.

I can see Ivie turning into the next Justin Smith, one of my favorite players in the pros.

Plays with good technique and looks like he goes hard. Good traits in a DT.

“They should see disruptiveness,” Ivie said when asked what fans can expect from him. “I want to use my size and speed to cause damage and just do what I can do to the best of my ability.”

I know this is far fetched at the moment but he reminds me of Dominique Easley. Awesome pick up, champ

I'm thinking more Ray McDonald, deep. Ray was a 3* who came here extremely underrated, and ended up starring as a DE/DT combo for us, as you guys know. Not sure Ivie has Ray's first step, but he's strong and fast.

I can see that. Probably a better comparison than Easley. Haha
