Will deleting suspious files cause a problem?

I use Avira antivirus. Lately Avira is showing files that are suspicious because the file cannot be entered. I have been removing these files as the correct thing to do.

Should I continue to delete these files or ignore the message or will this create problems for me?

The answer to that is "it depends." Obviously if it is a false positive from Avira and you end up deleting a file that your OS or an application needs, those will cease to work properly. Also depending on the OS, when something is deleted it isn't exactly deleted. Delete will just remove the addressing of where something is on a drive and until that location is overwritten by something else can be retrieved by those that know how.

A good way of approaching this is to create a quarantine directory and move them there. That way if they serve some true function you can restore them.

I believe Avira gives you the option to quarantine files.

You can also run Windows Defender/Microsof Security Essentials beside Avira. It's a free download from Microsoft and you can at least be sure that any important system files will not be deleted.

If you are suggesting running two AVs at the same time then that's not a good idea.

I'm also using Avira and it's pretty helpful so far.
