Before this my nephew, son and niece modified a sim card out of a Straight talk Nokia phone and has been running it on his iphone for six months with no problems. Not to mention the 45.00 a month service (48.69 tax and all)
For what I have heard the only problem is people that go crazy in their data (4 gb or more)
But now with Straight Talk and Net 10 embracing this, it will be great. This woks on At and T service so reception will be good.

It's an old article, but it's why I ask these questions:
http://www.publicknowledge.org/node/2705
Quote:
It turns out that “Unlimited Data” does not actually mean unlimited data. As I mentioned, the terms and conditions explicitly prohibit “uploading, downloading or streaming of audio or video programming or games” – that means goodbye Internet radio.
Second, and this ended up being the deal killer, was this section:
Straight Talk Unlimited talk, text and data plan Features cannot be used: (1) for access to the Internet, intranets, or other data networks except as the device’s native applications and capabilities permit, or (2) for any applications that tether your device to laptops or personal computers other than for the use of Wireless Synch.

Since most people that I know use streaming audio and video on Wi fi that shouldn't be a problem. Supposedly the only way you'll have problems with Straight Talk is if you constantly go over 2 GB on your data.
Since most people don't go over that this will fit most people. You can not use it as a hotspot and can not play online games on it.

The advantage is if you want a iphone. The same type plan with AT&T would be $120.00 a month or more. In my area (Panama City) T-Mobile only has 2 towers in a county of 200,000, so service is very weak. Plus no state, county or city franchise fees whcih can add another 20 bucks onto your bill.
