But an area high school coach who is fairly well respected mentioned to me today that Meyer's staff seemed to work harder than the new staff, at least with his school. His impression was that Florida started out strong, but then backed off. I guess he never ran into that with Meyer's staff. It is not a fly by night high school program either. A top 5 coach was on his campus not long ago.
Maybe they just aren't recruiting that school as hard. Are you fairly confident in Quinn's recruiting abilities? It seems like there is alot of Jacksonville talent coming out in 2013. I hope we are in good shape in that area.

Under Meyer, the Gators allowed FSU to dominate the area, especially First Coast. Maybe they did work harder, but the results weren't very good. On the flip side, UF just landed the best LB in the state from First Coast, and can land Nick Washington when they say go.
Sounds a little sketchy to me, but thanks for sharing.

That sounds good.
I think we have to corner JAX if we are going to be successful in 2013. JMO.

Only thing I would quibble with is the numbers...we would have to have a lot of turnover to hit 26.

I thought about our lack of scholarships going into the next cycle. But i also thought about how badly attrition has hit this program lately and the few talented jrs who might leave after having a good season this year.
Also, we just have so many needs that i felt i had to portray in this mock class.
I hope for our sake that we can't sign 26. Go Gators!

My mock class is made up of a good crop of quality talent which gets roundly criticised for being subject to a terrible close on NSD,when some young attention-grabber chooses NC State over the Gators on ESPNU...

Forgive me for interjecting, but....
High school coach/college coach relationships are funny things. Being a "fly on the wall" from both sides I've seen it. Su is correct, and probably you and your source, also. Know quite a few coaches (on both ends) that just believe showing up and paying ahlms to a high school coach works wonders. You know, the college coach shows up, says "hey coach, really like what you're doing here", maybe even throw in a few questions about what he's running... and they just eat that crud up. Think they are the cock of the walk and talk good about that coach from then on. Doesn't necessarily translate into recruiting cause A) might not have anyone you're interested in and B) coach might not have that much sway with a givin recruit if he did. Give Quinn time, maybe he's just not a fraud.

I've thought about it and looked back on my mock class. I would take RB Webb off the list; i think UF will be content with two backs in this class given the lack of scholarship numbers available. Especially if they are stud backs like Lane and Taylor.
Also i should not have added LB Deebs. I think getting McMillian, Hearns, Kelsey Jr., and Daniel at Buck will be enough numbers to make up for only signing two last cycle. That cuts my mock class down to 24, which i really think is the ideal realistic number for this class.

Five down, 19 to go. I think SU is already ahead of his early predictions for the 2012 class. This class will fall into place a lot faster, so these predictions will hold together better.

Meh, four were already committed and I wasn't exactly going out on a limb predicting Taylor and Adams. Pretty sure a bunch of other posters here are 6/6, but I appreciate the love.
Outside of Adams, my WR's may be off. Gimme kudos if I land more than 1-2 OL/DL.
