My ideal weight is around 200, now I am a stocky guy overall and right now I am at 228 but you wouldn't be able to tell the difference unless I had my shirt off. I think I am going to try and get to 195 because after football I got down from 225 to 205 but I think I want to get a little leaner.

I started doing P90X to get back into the shape I want. I've done it before but that was when I was in better shape. All I can say is its intense, I love the pump(Arnold voice). The good thing is that my buddy is doing it with me and that helps with motivation. We are eating better food and are basically only drinking water aside from a protein shake with some glutamine in it after workouts. I'll tell you what, I am excited to get back into shape.

I was just putting this out there so that I can update it for myself. I will post my weight on day 30, 60, and 90. I am on day 4 today, yoga. Wish me luck lol.

I remember when I did the 90 days a couple of years ago, I hated Tony lol but now I am enjoying him.

Good luck. All that working out is way too much for me so if you can do it for 90 days I say that is very impressive.

The diet is more important though so make sure not to let that slip.

Once I get back into it, I am a workout freak lol. I have done the diet for around 40 days in the past. While doing it then I lost 23 pounds lol. Thanks.

Congrats and good luck.

I'll be interested to hear your progress. I've never done any of those programs but am in pretty good shape now at about 6'1 and 225-230 lbs (also stocky). Depending how tall you are, we may have similar dimensions and I've always been interested in how those programs are for us big guys.

Yeah, I am only 5'10 but don't blame me lol it is my moms fault.

I will definitely keep y'all posted. I really enjoyed it the first time I did it. I was 200-205 and already muscular from working out consistently for 2 years but it really helped me tone up. My arms grew about 4 inches in circumference in the 90 days and I had much better endurance with lifting and running. Also brought my strength up. Two of my buddies also did it with me and they both got cut up(they are much slimmer).

Today I finished Yoga and whoo I forgot how difficult it is lol but it really helped me focus and loosen up/stretch my sore muscles. Tomorrow is legs & back and Ab ripper.

Your arms grew 4 inches? That is unreal. Are you sure that is accurate because that is a huge jump unless you just had twigs for arms.

Yeah, never heard of anything remotely close to that happening, not even in a case of prior atrophy. And on top of that, P90X is basically endurance training, not so much strength training.

It is accurate because I had a tape measure. I didn't have twigs for arms lol but I wasn't "big" either. I went from 30lb dumbbell reps(10) to 45lb dumbbell reps(10). I was taking multivitamins, fish oils, 250-300 grams of protein per day, creatine(two 30 day cycles which started on day 1 and day 60), test enhancer(one 30 day cycle started on day 60), and a sleep aid.

I would drink nothing but water(80-100+ ounces a day), I tried to only eat red meat twice a week, not much fruit just a whole lot of vegetables, fish which mostly consisted of fresh halibut and salmon(I went to Alaska the month before I started and brought back over 100lbs of fish that I caught), and chicken.

If you dont mind answering what were the starting and ending measurements? That is just an incredible almost unheard of improvement in 90 days.

13 1/4 inches to 17 inches.

My arms are not much bigger than where you started at. 14.5 or so and if I made a jump like that I would need new shirts.

I also only weigh 180 at 5'10" so I don't think I could get to 17 inch arms without putting on more weight.

Its just that while there are tricks to putting on arm size most people expect to make gains like that over years, not months. And it almost always comes with a gain in lean body mass. So, if I am following this thread you were able to lose weight while putting on a significant amount of muscle. I dont think its impossible its just not normal.

Well, one of the reasons that it seems so unbelievable is that, unless we've misunderstood you, you said you lost a bunch of weight during that time. But to gain four inches on your arm you'd have to GAIN a BUNCH of weight.

And then the other thing is that P90X is endurance cardio, not strength training.

I didn't lose weight, I was 200-205 when I started and around the same when I finished. If I did gain weight I wasn't any heavier than 215.

I said after football I lost weight to get leaner while still lifting weights, I went from 225-230 down to 200-205 and that is when I started P90X. I lost a lot of strength while trying to get lean and gained my strength back.
