It seems harder to lock up the state in Florida than it does in Texas but its not like they don't have competition there. If we can consistently lock up 80% of our classes early with only a few waiting til the Spring and signing day that would be excellent.

LOL like coaches don't recruit for them. That's part of recruiting. Deal with it.

O.k., here's the scoop so far since I got back to the house and checked my e-mail.
Apparently, there has been at least two big-time nolie alums who have called and complained to Lincoln HS officials (but they'd never admit it anyway), about Green, saying it was him that sent Hearnes and Andrades to UF. They want him o-u-t. Of course, they were told they can't even prove it was Green who actually sent them to UF, but he's guilty because he's a former Gator player.
This reminds me a lot of the numerous nolies who were business owners that threatened local Tally radio stations to stop carrying the Gators Sports Network or they'd pull their sponsorhips.
The GSN got ran out of Tally for a couple of years too until it returned to a smaller, lesser station.

From the article I read about Andrades, Quezzie actually advised him to sign somewhere other than UF before the offer came in late.

But facts don't mean anything to nolie fans. Quezzie is a Gator, so he's automatically to blame for both Andrades and Hearnes.
Remember, we're dealing with nolie fans, who have this incredible inferiority complex when it comes to UF.

Hopefully Tim used to bully him before the growth spurt and he wants to get even as an OL for the Gators.

I am happy whatever momentum we can generate, whenever I see it so this is all good. That said, WE NEED O-LINEMEN!!!
Unlike any position on defense, runningbacks, or even wide receivers, which all rely more on athleticism than game planning and play book memorization, O-linemen take time to develop. Nobody...I mean NOBODY, comes into the SEC as a freshman on the O-line and immediately dominates. Right now we are creating a giant hole in our O-line development. With only 6 signed in three years when average of 4 per year is ideal. This is exactly what led to RefSU decline during past decade. They'd make headlines with stud LBs, and good skill position players then stumble at the O-line.
That's where it's all won and lost... In the trenches and until I see some increases there I will be sweating.

Xavier Nixon also had a very impressive Freshman year on the O Line, but regressed after that.

Neither pouncy "dominated" as freshman. Check the depth charts. They got into the rotation but didn't start and play like studs from day one.

I'm looking at the box score from the 2007 season opener against Western Kentucky. Here's the official, UAA-approved starting lineup from that game for the offense:
Florida
POS ## OFFENSE
LT 77 Watkins, J.
LG 63 Tartt, J.
C 67 Miller, D.
RG 56 Pouncey, Ma.
RT 73 Medder, C.
WR 5 Caldwell, A.
WR 1 Harvin, P.
WR 9 Murphy, L.
QB 15 Tebow, T.
RB 33 Moore, K.
FB 29 Rutledge, E.
You'll find Pouncey starting at right guard every game of that season, save Ole Miss.

Starting and dominating are two very different things. The best true freshman OL we ever had was OT Reggie Green and he regressed to barely starting ot OG as a Sr. because of a series of knee injuries. As good as Reggie was as a freshman, he rarely dominated. Just doesn't happen.

^^^ Made me so happy to read this!!! I love players with swagger, and Hearns, Taylor, and others in this '13 class have it.

one of the senior fsu o-lineman tweeted him back saying "have fun loosing in doak this year." Yes the guy actually spelled loosing with to oo's and 2nd off Hearns wont be on the team this year when they play at doak. Glad the education system is working out for them up there.

“To be honest, I never thought it would blow up when I tweeted that,” Hearns said. “I was just tweeting what was going on with me. It wasn’t a big deal to me. It just got blown out of proportion. But FSU fans can hop on it and get whatever they want from it. At the end of the day, I’m going to a great college in the University of Florida and that’s all that really matters to me.”
