I want my gym back
OK, all of you New Years Resolutioners out there, I am proud of you, I really am. Its been two weeks and you are still in the gym. You have made your point, now please stop.
We all know you dont have what it takes and will end up quitting eventually. I say the sooner the better. You dont like working out anyway, you just do it because somehow you got the idea that you need to workout but you really dont.
Go back home, stop eating too much and take a walk around the block. Filling up the gym parking lot and spending 45 minutes on the elliptical isnt helping.
Sorry, frustrated with the overcrowding this month.

I really really should. I am sure all the trainers at the gym would love that.

My evil plan appears to be working!

Funny, right now at networking events I attend, when people ask, "What do you do ?", I reply, "You know how the average new year's resolution last an average of nine days ? I fix that."

I'm all for people in this country getting some exercise, and I suppose (almost) whatever promotes/facilitates that is good.
That said, if I see one more person doing calisthenics, jumping rope, or using dumbbells on the olympic lifting platforms or doing barbell curls in the squat cage I'm going to lose it.

Well, I need to get back in the gym. Haven't been able to hit a routine workout in months thanks to football season, so maybe this will be the week I get back at it full swing with basketball off for the week.
But hey, I know what I'm doing in a gym.
Anyone work out at Bailey's in Gainesville?

Thomas I cant imagine being able to have a normal life with the jobs you guys do. In the 24/7 information age it seems almost impossible to ever put the work away. You really have to go out of your way to carve out personal time and when that is limited I am sure fitness isnt always a top priority.
Hope you can get into a routine and stick with it for a while. Just don't do curls in the squat rack or bench press on Monday. And dont hog any machines while you are having a full conversation on your cell phone. The next person I see do that is getting a plate to the face.

I always go late at night usually at 11 pm or 12 am, usually there's nobody there or maybe 1 person.
It's nice to have the place to yourself.

Haha, don't worry my phone is off for all but emergencies when I got to the gym. But Mondays are my chest and tri day when I'm in a normal four-day-a-week routine, so you're outta luck on the bench press part!

On Monday morning we do bench press. Then we go out to get the paper and fix coffee.

Hey, as long as people don't loiter and abide by the unspoken rules of the gym, I'm glad to have them there and wish them the best.
Unfortunately, a lot of new years resolutioners break all sorts of rules, hang out on the equipment talking on phones, etc.

The resolutioners will be gone next month. Just don't talk to them lest you bond with them.

It's the worst in a college town. People work out like crazy for the three weeks after New Years and the three weeks before spring break. I have to go to the gym late at night to avoid the crowds.

Still too many when I go for my liking but its getting better. I think the fact that I keep forgetting to wear deodorant is helping. Gotta do my part to clear the pack.
