This is the first I've heard of this game so forgive me but - WTF? Metal Gear is supposed to be a tactical espionage type game. This looks like some awful hack and slash game. Am I missing something?

It's a spin-off based on the Raiden character from MGS 2 and 4. There will likely be a MGS 5 at some point.

Like helix said this is a totally different entry in the series. This game is about Raiden. It's tagline is "Lightning Bolt Action." Originally it got cancelled, but Platinum Games picked it up, Kojima is still producting it though while simultaneously working on MGS5. The thing with this game though is you're supposed to be able to cut just about anything in the environment.

The last one of these I played was MGS3 on PS2. I enjoyed it but I don't know if this is one I would care for.
