Default I have a great tip for those

wanting to drop some belly fat. I recently read some research on Cinnamon. So I decided to give it a try. I have been VERY impressed with the results and it could not have been easier. I have restricted bad carbos but the idea is to take two cinnamon capsules or 1/4 teaspoon of the spice with every meal. You can get it at Walmart for about 8 dollars. Two after each meal. It balances blood sugar and helps sugar get ushered into muscle cells which keeps it from going into fat cells and bloating them. I was in reasonably good shape before because I play a lot of tennis, but the research had suggested that this works even with no dietary changes. But most of what I have lost has been from my belly and I am seeing lines I have NEVER seen before. So if any of you want to try this, I can tell you that it works. I would love to hear from anyone else who may have tried this. There are a myriad of health benefits that go with cinnamon. Oh, and I changed to using coconut oil too. Those two changes have me in the best shape of my life and I am now 6'6" and 207 lbs w/36" waist. I highly recommend both cinnamon supplementation and conversion to coconut oil.

They discussed this on the Dr. Oz show once, a girl who was dieting suggested taking Cinnamon as it helped sugar metabolism.

I pretty much don't watch Dr. Oz but i tune in once in awhile if he talks about diet related topics.

This is completely off topic so I apologize in advance. However, I have a question about when you say you don't watch something but will when they are talking about a topic that interests you. How do you know when they are talking about that topic? I mean you must be somewhat aware of the show or perform some type of search right? Or is it more like you are at home flipping channels and you stop to see what they are talking about.

Just curious as I have recently been giving up more and more television. And before I did not watch anything other than sports that was not previously recorded on the DVR.

gator, I'm very happy for your results, but is there any rigorous research which proves that adding cinnamon produces weight loss without changing diet ? I'm not challenging you. I'm merely curious. I would want to see a clinical study where caloric needs were established beforehand, then stringently controlled during introduction of cinnamon. You've probably heard it said that correlation is not causation. And I would also want to determine whether cinnamon might have an indirect rather than direct effect on weight loss.

The research I found on that started me on it was accidental. The study that was being conducted was on cinnamon lowering cholesterol. While doing the study, several participants noted that they had lost weight. There was not a calorie control in that study, yet people were losing weight. So a similar study was rerun, this time looking for weight loss, not lowering cholesterol. When the double blinded the study with no dietary calorie restriction, weight loss, namely belly fat, occurred and was found to be statistically significant. Since then several more studies have been run. The latest one I read and I want to say it was in Nutrition perhaps, showed the cinnamon actually activated the fat cell to release its contents and caused shrinking directly on the adipocyte. I can tell you from my own experience, that in the last few weeks, I have not been dieting as I was when I first started, and my weight continues to drop. This morning I hit 206.8 on the scales. That is a new all time low for me. I didn't weigh that in high school. So there is something too it. I have always exercised, so that isn't it....I have been playing tennis over 15 years and competitively too. The exercise remains constant, but I can assure you that for me, it really has helped me drop belly fat. If I can come across where I saw the original research that got me interested in cinnamon supp, I will post it for you.

I think I'm going to try this, if for nothing else the lowering of cholesterol. I'll let you know how it goes, although I'm finally starting to lose some belly fat on my own so I probably won't be the best example.

I'd still like to see a study where both calories and activity were stringently regulated and then cinnamon added. I don't doubt that cinnamon may influence blood sugar and other factors, factors which may affect appetite, for example. But I'm always wary of claims regarding foods that can be added which magically burn belly fat.

Exactly. Which is why when you read a lot of supplement claims on their products it will say something like "when accompanied with a diet and exercise plan". I am sure cinnamon has its benefits, same as garlic and other foods but can they make a difference if the rest of you eat too much and you dont get enough activity? No way.

Is there a big difference between the capsules and just using ground cinnamon? I just used ground cinnamon last night and today.

I eat FiberPlus cereal: Cinnamon Oat flavor a time or 2 per week, and add a good 2-3 tablespoons on Cinnamon for added taste, i knew it had a positive result on the body.

Wonder how good Cinnamon will work on the baked chicken i eat daily...i go through 8lbs a week, so i need a way to incorporate it.

Aside from being a delicious Spice, Cinnamon is historically recognized as being a Sugar Metabolism aid by Healing Traditions around the world.
