BY FAR, the most toxic thing a person can do is overeat. We're not getting fat and dying because we eat bread, but rather because we eat more food than is required.

I'm certainly not advocating gluttony. So we agree there.
I'd be interested to see from where you're pulling your "too much paleo food is inflammatory" argument. Many studies on overconsumption are focused on a typical western diet, which is carb heavy. Heavy carbs result in elevated blood glucose (more than we need for cellular fuel) - which is clearly linked with inflammation. So over-consuming carbs is definitely problematic, which typically happens on a western diet regardless of the total overall intake.
Here's a nice link from your boy Sisson.

Guy, I relish this RARE opportunity to play science to your religion.
"When consumed as a part of a weight-stable diet fructose does not cause weight gain or an atherogenic lipid profile even when consumed at FOUR TIMES THE LEVEL currently recommended by the AHA:
http://circ.ahajournals.org/cgi/cont...stracts/A10906
But what if these participants were to go on to gain weight. EVEN THEN scientific precision would demand that we ask the question: "Was it the fructose part of too many calories that impacted their health markers, or was it the too many calories part of the too many calories that impacted their health markers ?"
As an aside: really, who gives a f*** what our primal ancestors ate ? Their lives were nasty, brutish and short. Yes, they were likely more physically robust than we are, but I doubt that had anything to do with the fact that they weren't getting their gluten. And besides, the human body is remarkably adaptable. Witness the WILDLY divergent diets of people all over the world who eat bread, pastries and tons of rice and potatoes and who are healthier than we are.

When I started vegetarian diet I found it difficult to continue after 2 months but then I added nuts and fish to develop taste and make my meal more nutritionist. It will help you in sticking with your diet also.

People eat to excess so that they feel full. I make a point of eating stuff between meals that fills me up, grapes, berries, bananas, plus I drink a lot of water. Something I've been doing lately is eating a lot of romaine lettuce. I buy those huge packs at Costco with six heads in it. I cut up a head of romaine to to with almost every lunch and dinner, putting just a small amount of lite Caesar dressing. I fill up a lot faster that way. Much less likely to go for seconds on meat or pasta.

CLF4L is deep into some gaming if you catch his posts on bytes. Though it appears he is still making those late night gym runs.
Maybe he will pop back in here sometime soon.

Carbs is what I spend most of my effort avoiding. My only problem is that my family is big time into carbs. I often have to prepare separate meals for myself.

Not sure what it is that your family is in to but if its pasta keep an eye out for shirataki noodles. Not the same but a decent lower Cal substitute.

Shiritaki noodles really aren't that comparable to pasta ... probably closer to boiled rice noodles. And they smell terrible out of the bag.
You'll also want to watch out because the ones you can buy at local grocery stores are a mix of tofu and yam flour, whereas ones from Asian grocery stores are pure yam flour. The difference is only ~ 30 calories per serving, but it's worth noting.

Yeah, they're not very good either. Gummy, smell like fish (which can be washed away, but ...)
