Gatorfan89, there's not a lot but they're out there. (multiplayer with lots of players) off the top of my head, resistance 2 and MAG. Res has 64 and MAG has 200 plus.

Same. I want the PC version because of the 64 player online, but all of my friends have 360s so I kind of want it on 360 too, even though the best experience will be on PC. I hate going to midnight launches and told myself I never would, but BF3 I think I definitely will be there to get it.

Playing this on anything less than a decent PC will be criminal.

Thanks coach.

Whatever. I'll take my ps3, 60 inch Sony sxrd, 1080 hd with hdmi cable hooked up and surround sound over your pc anyday.
As for battlefield 3, I'm just now about to start playing 2! Lol I hope online doesn't suffer too much on 2.

PS3? LOL. Come back when you have a real graphics processor. Playing high res games ported for consoles and dumbed down graphics REMAINS criminal.

I'd agree with this. I'll likely end up getting the PS3 to play most of my multiplayer on that and DLing the PC version for the singleplayer campaign. My i7 950 with 6GB of DDR3 1600 and soon to be GTX590 with a GTX460 serving as a dedicated PhysX and running to a pair of 22" Alienware 1080p monitors or my 42" LCD TV should do the trick, no?

I've seen nice computers and I honestly couldn't care less. People get too worked about this. Does it look better, sure. For me, as long as it's HD or at least component, it's just fine. What about all the money you have to spend on updating your equipment constantly. THAT, is criminal, my gator country friend!

"Battlefield 3 is designed to take down Call of Duty."
http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/116/1160097p1.html
That's what I like to hear. If any game can do it, BF3 can. Generic ass Call of Duty is about to get it's ass handed to it.

Minecraft has made like 33 million.
Yes graphics are great, but I think we can all agree on one thing, they are more icing on the cake. What it comes down to is what people are more comfortable playing. You can say "pc is clearly superior because of better graphics and loadtimes" and I will agree with it as a general statment, but it still comes down to what you will have the most fun playing. For instance I can't hit jack **** on a mouse and keyboard (which is odd but true), yet I can do pretty decent on a controller. This makes consoles more fun, I can exert more control over my character and am more comfortable with the game.
Also on a side note, something pc people may not like, this was stated in an interview with the Elder Scrolls V director Todd Howard:
Quote:
IGN: Will the PC version support DirectX 11?
Todd Howard: Yes, but I guess the real question here is do we take advantage of DX11's big new features and the answer is 'not specifically'. Our graphics work centers around doing things that will look the same regardless of platform, and sometimes that implementation will be different on the 360, PS3, and PC.
|
Full interview here
No before you jump on me for posting that, I don't believe him. But, if it were true that would be ridiculous. The screenshots of that game are particularly glossed up with the dynamic lighting and reflections and so on and so on.
Either way not to hijack the thread, I know its about battlefield 3 but I think we can all agree Battlefield 3 is something we are anxious for, Elder Scrolls V is a day off of work kiss the family tell em you love em be back in a week kind of event.

Here's how I see it:
I have both a pretty powerful PC and an Xbox 360. In terms of graphics, the PC will always be ahead of consoles. Graphics are important to me, I don't like playing ugly ass games, but the gameplay needs to be great, too. Just because a PC games looks better than it's console counterpart, doesn't essentially mean the game is better on the PC. For instance, Dead Space 2. I think DS2 is a game that plays a whole lot better on console, even though the PC version looks better. It's a game that is just made to be played with a controller. The same goes for the Resident Evil series, GTA series and such. They're all games, IMO, that just work better on consoles.
Usually, though, when a game comes out that is great on both the PC and on consoles, I'll get both versions. Usually, I get the Xbox version first, then maybe 6 months to a year later, when there's a ton of awesome mods out for the game, I'll get it on PC. I have both versions of Fallout 3, Oblivion and Half-Life 2. The modding ability of FO3 and Oblivion make them so much more fun on the PC, Imho.
As for BF3, I'll get both versions. Most of my friends have 360s and are going to get it, so I'll get the 360 version to play with them. But I know that BF is a primarily PC game and to get the full experience you need to play it on PC, so I'll probably upgrade my PC in the fall and get BF3 for it (and Crysis 2, for that matter).

Ok, I don't want this to be taken the wrong way because I like BF and think BF3 will be amazing. The graphics and sound is out of this world. Unfortunately, BF3 is not a Call Of Duty killer. As long as it feels like there is 100 lbs on your back it will not beat out COD.
If they created Frostbite 2 to be as smooth and crisp as MW2 game engine, I would say that this game would be light years ahead of anything COD has put out.
