Jamey Johnson is great but if you get a chance to see him live don't go expecting anything other than music. No crowd interaction at ALL. Just 90 minutes of classic country music. Saw him twice in November and he was great but no personality
Black Keys Phoenix
MGMT
Vampire Weekend
Silversun Pickups
Muse
Franz Ferdinand
Crash Kings
Mumford and Sons
Also been listening to 311 radio on pandora, which is killer.
Saw Phoenix and Sliversun Pickups last year. Saw Vampire Weekend two years ago. Really digging MGMT's latest album. Can't get enough of the song Brian Eno. Also liking fellow Brooklyn-ites, Bear Hands. Very intrigued by the hottest college scene, Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT. Both MGMT and Bear Hands, plus six or seven upstarts came to Brooklyn by way of Wesleyan.
Check out a band called The Faint. I don't know if they put out anything new lately, but their best album - IMO - is Danse Macabre. They're a dance/punk/heavy sound.
check out the song Agenda Suicide.
Saw MUSE listed a few times... I have many favorites of Muse, but Sunburn is up there on the list
For some good melodic progressive trance, this is good:
Something a little darker, I like this:
A lot of people in the scene don't like deadmau5, but I think they're elitist snobs. The guy is great. This is progressive house with some electro influence...it's a pretty epic track:
A friend told me that the last time deadmau5 came to House of Blues - Orlando, a group of people were totally out of their mind and kept throwing stuff at the DJ booth where the mau5 was...I guess something hit his laptop and messed something up and now deadmau5 vows never to return to Orlando! Whatever, I'll see him in Miami in late March.
Location: Wherever I am I doing fine. I am here for a good not a long time.

I will be in town that weekend but if the rumors are true and he is headlining Saturday night I wont be there. I will be at the One Night Stand at Masquerade Motel. It was a tough call but I'd rather see SHM since I have never seen them all together and I have seen Deadmau5 before and think I will again.
Ya, I'm not even sure I'm going to go to the actual Ultra Music Festival...I'm more about the pool/beach parties and the after-hours events. The thought of a million little raver kids overdosing on E amidst a sea of sweaty people, grass, and dust isn't too appealing. And each DJ only performs a one hour set! That said, I'll probably still go for at least one day .
