Music You are Listening to Right Now
I am always looking for new artists and new music to listen to. Who really gets your day started right now? What kind of music are you digging right now? If you are like me, my mood determines my music.
Today I am listening to a little of the following:
Ray Lamontagne - Let It Be Me
Adele - Rolling in the Deep
Band of Horses - Blue Beard
Let me know, I am always looking for new stuff, old, current, it doesn't matter.

Mumford and Sons
MGMT
Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros
Arcade Fire
Mavis Staples (new album with Jeff Tweedy)
Matt and Kim
Bear Hands
I like Ray Lamontagne, but they are playing his stuff to death on the local radio station.

Do you listen via Pandora? It's great b/c you get to hear new artists. For example, I have a Colbie Caillat station set on Pandora... so it plays her, along with other artists who sing music similar to her (like Adele, Sarah Bareilles, etc). I've discovered artists like Mat Kearney, Marie Digby, and Katie Voegele... check 'em out!

Yes mam. I have found quite a few new artists that way as well. Was just curious what Gator people were listening to lately and figured it would be something good to discuss.

Seriously Strange get off my Grooveshark account.
Besides the bands already listed I have a pretty strong house addiction listening to Swedish House Mafia just about everyday, Deadmau5 too.
A couple good songs from SHM:
Kidsos which includes the MGMT song as the hook.
Sylvia which is a song originally by Miike Snow.
I also have been listening to Florence + The Machine a bit. Very different.
Check out Kiss With a Fist.
And though I get crap for it Lil Wayne.
And there are plenty of old favorites that are still banging around my playlist.
Less Than Jake
Grateful Dead
Phish
NOFX
H2O
TV on the Radio
Balkan Beat Box
I am a bit all over the place.

I decided to go a little different route than normal the last few days.
-- Parody/comedy music.
Created a Pandora station for "Richard Cheese", which is an artist who re-does famous songs but puts them to a lounge sound. I find it quite comical. For example, currently listening to him sing "Sunday Bloody Sunday" set to a latin lounge beat.
Artists that come up on this station include:
Tenacious D
Cake
Weird Al Yankovic
Warning: adult lyrics are played if you search this.

Calypso Awakenings from the Emory Cook Collections. Great stuff from a time special time in Trinidadian calypso music.

I enjoy some MGMT, Kings of Leon, Pete Yorn, Land of Talk and my personal local NYC faves are The London Souls right now-check them out asap.
Also for those interested you can check out my band Cooper at Myspace.com/cooperband. With humble Gainesville beginnings...

From the bands you originally mentioned, I'd recommend
Josh Hoge
Averi (anthing off the albums Direction of Motion or Drawn to Revolving Doors)-my favorite band of all time
Edwin McCain (definitely MUCH more beyond his mid 90's single I'll Be)
Gregory Douglass
To answer the question though, the off the radar band I'm listening to Temple Hill (plus classics Foreigner and The Eagles)
