i think abc has the bcs championship game this year.
i believe they get it when it is played at the rose bowl since they own the rose bowl game rights as well

That was before the NC game is different from the bowl game era of the BCS so you may be right. The Rose Bowl is always on ABC so when the Rose Bowl was the NC in 04 it was on ABC but now that they changed it to a separate game it is probably on Fox.

The BCS national championship game will be televised on ABC which has the rights to the Rose Bowl and the NC game when it is played there...

espn360.com is unavailable with Time Warner in Charlotte, but it seems I've previously purchased these games here. However, at the moment, I can't seem to find where I did purchase them. Any ideas, lol?

Another tip that you might have a luck....
If you do have any friend or relative who has a Comcast account, ask that person to use the remote access by using his/her Comcast account to use the espn360.
Otherwise, I tried to find a way for anyone to purchase a game via espn360 online but couldn't find it yet. But here is the phone numbers you or anyone can call and ask at # 888-549-ESPN.
