Default Still Winning Among All The Upsets

Wow, the upsets are just a-coming today.

Oregon goes down.

Then Iowa, Penn State, and Notre Dame.

Add to that Southern Cal is struggling against Arizona State, Houston is trailing Tulsa, and Bama needed a ref-job to beat LSU, but the Gators are 9 - 0 and are still sitting at #1.

I realize some people think that is redundant and I understand others are frustrated we didn't put a couple more TD's on the board against Vandy tonight, but be thankful that we're still grinding out wins.

This thread can quickly turn into a "what we need to do" thread, but it isn't about that, it's about being thankful we're 9 - 0 with a chance to go 10 - 0.

Lets hear a shout out for the undefeated Gators!

To those who though we looked terrible tonight.

Remember how great you thought Oregon looked last week.

Lets just say any time you win an SEC game by 24 points the day is all right. Add in everyone else's woes and it's even better.

I remember many seasons where we were dancing in the streets with a 9 win season. Vandy always gives UF trouble for what ever reason, and no amount of media crap will diminish what these guys have accomplished. Life is very good for Gators!!

I am a very happy Gator that we are 9-0 and heading to the SECCG. That being said, that game last night felt like a massage in Thailand without the happy ending!

This year we are winning on defense. The wins may not be as lopsided as last year, but this is a different team. I'm very happy with 9-0 and will be ecstatic with 12-0 and the matchup with Alabama. Let's stay positive and good things will happen!

Agreed. With no team consistently lighting up the skies on O and D this season like we did last year, winning is all that really matters. And as long as we keep doing that I'm happy even though I still grumble now and then.

Amen! We gotta win 3 more and play Bummers in the SECG.

USC, Oregon, Oklahoma, Iowa, Ohio State, Penn State, and few others were highly ranked but are all beaten. Many are surprised that Oregon got beaten.

Only threesome remain though all those threesome including ours escaped a game once so far. Those threes are very solid teams and well above others in the polls either.

But Bama shall be beaten likely so that leave Texas and Florida, I believe.

Who would think TCU, Cincinnati, and Boise State being ranked as 4th - 6th in respectively by early November?

Totally agree with first, third, and fourth sentences. Second sentence is a myth that sprung up because they gave our MNC team a good game in Nashville in 1996. Except for Cutler's senior year, we mostly beat Vandy by 40-50 points in Gainesville.

The scores in G'ville since 1993:

1993 52-0
1995 38-7
1997 20-7
1999 13-6
2001 71-13
2003 35-17
2005 49-42
2007 49-22

We have beaten them handily most years--but not mostly 40-50 at least in recent years. The 71-13 appears to be the best margin and 42-7 in 1962 the second best at home. Those are quick glances and quick estimation of differences.

College football down again this year. It's really getting quite ugly. Clemson might win the ACC? Please.

Vandy's pass D is third best in the SEC, and they are, after all, an SEC team, so it's not like we were playing Citadel or Charleston Southern last night. We still kept them outta the endzone and beat them 27-3...that's called a blowout, folks. 9-0. Bring on the Cocks!

GO GATORS!!!!!
