Pretty simple, right? Jones was a superstar recruit. He's a future top 10 draft choice. He has freakish talent, combining blazing speed with great height and wonderful hands. Clearly this isn't even close.
That much is correct.
Cooper: 31 catches, 474 yards, 15.3 YPC, five TDs.
Jones: 20 catches, 229 yards, 11.5 YPC, one TD.
Now, let's be clear here. Obviously Jones still retains extraordinary potential. And clearly Julio is going higher in the draft, when he comes out. And Jones clearly attracts defensive attention in a way Cooper does not. So I'm not, strictly speaking, saying that Riley is a better player.
But strictly in terms of on-field productivity this year? It's really not even a contest.

Not a contest at all. Julio Jones came into this season with a ridiculous amount of hype, but hasn't delivered what most would call even a decent performance. His last TD was on a trick play.
Most bammers will tell you that he is contributing by blocking, or make excuses about how he's injured. It's football, crap happens. If he's hurt, he's hurt. You can't grade a kid based on how he
would be, or how much potential he has. There really is only how well they're performing.
I do believe however, that stats aren't everything. But even so, Julio's aren't that impressive even for an average receiver.
