^^^^^ You beat me to it. In being the worst as far as ethically speaking--the fact that Coach Dan McCartney (correct me if I have the wrong guy), and the entire world SAW the 5th down played, and yet the coach nor the school nor commissioner of the conference did nothing to step up to the plate and admit the travesty. If memory serves me correct, only once before had a 5th down been played which allowed a team to win--and it was way way back in year--the "winning" school's persident forfeited the game saying winning honestly was more important than winning at any cost.
Colorado didn't even come close to such an act and was awarded a split MNC with Ga Tech. I recall CU won the AP title while GT won the UPI. Bogus MNC for Colorado that year IMO.
