Need some info. Can anyone think of a movie where the male or female lead starts out about age 20, and ages to late 30's in the story? I need to know how well this might be pulled off (using some makeup, of course) without using two different actors. I'd like to see any movie that has done this.

The Benjamin Button movie did a pretty good job of this. I am thinking of Cate Blanchett's character more than anyone else. I believe she is mid/late 30's in real life.

She's 40. And she plays like 20 in the movie?

Okay, The Notebook is from 2004. The male and female actors would have been 24 and 25 respectively. Do they age, say, 15 years in the movie?

Yeah I think she starts in her 20's as a pretty hot ballerina and goes into her 40's

In the Notebook, they are 18 when they meet and (10?) years later they get back together.

I just thought of Gone with the Wind. I assume Scarlett is around 20 or younger at the start. How many years pass before Rhett says, "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn"?

Thanks for all the examples. So the answer is, aging a character from 20 to late 30's is no problem. (As I recall, the only thing they did in Back to the Future to make the mom young again was to give her a ponytail.) I think I'll rent Benjamin Button. (I don't want to see anything with Tom Hanks in it.)

You're not missing anything. The fact that it managed to beat out Pulp Fiction, Quiz Show, and The Shawshank Redemption for the Best Picture Oscar is still difficult for me to comprehend.

Forest Gump = dumb. The book was dumb. The movie was dumb. Everything about it sucks.

And for what it's worth, I thought the aging process they did was nonexistant. He looks the same in the early 90s as he did in the 60s.
