Default Legislators' fraudulent voting

Interesting story about the TX legislature...I really don't understand how the leaders of society sleep at night...they can't be human.

Well, there goes the visitor passes. It is amazing how anyone with any brains at all, still has faith the govt is not corrupt. On the national level, they don't even write their own bills anymore...or read them.

Not sure what is more pathetic... They're doing it or the arrogance they show when caught.

In Texas, most of them are Republicans, what did you expect? And that's the cultrue GWB came from. That explains a lot.

The trend in the 20th and 21st century is that getting power is corrupting.
Getting corupted gets more power.

I guess when all you got to talk about are your pom poms then you would come up with something like this for this thread. Perhaps you should look at the video, it is hardly a Republican v. Democrat issue. They are all doing it. Not that you would let that sort of fact get in the way of your cheerleading.

Your post is the epitomy of what is wrong with politics today. Many, just like you cannot see beyond their own party that they cheer for and completely miss the problems are with all of our government.

Hopefully you will figure it out one day.

If this wasn't so pitiful, it'd be funny.

It appears that the Texas legislature uses ACORN for their voting.

Oh. I've figured it out, Austin, probably before you were born. What was there that you didn't understand about the words, "...most of them...?" I guess you haven't figured out yet that the party who has the majority has the ability to set the rules. Now follow me closely here, this is probably complicated for you - if the problem is as bad as the brief television comment seemed to say it was, then it would be the party in power, in this case, the R-E-P-U-L-I-C-A-N-S, who would have the actual and moral responsibility for doing something about it. Pretty simple concept, but I guess with your Republican rose colored glasses firmly in place, its difficult to grasp reality. Hope this helps you.

Ahhh... Is the same valid on the Federal level as well?

I think it's safe to say that both parties are doing this. It's also just as safe to say that if this story came from Massachusetts, we'd have the usual suspects blaming it on Democrats.
Personally, I think it's just legislators being self-righteous jerks in a completely non-partisan way.

I will try and go real slow for you here.... the video shows plenty from BOTH parties breaking the EXISTING rules. Neither party stepped up to call out the other because BOTH of them were not following the rules. You seem to be the one with the inability to have a discussion without making it a Republican-Democrat thing. The issue is BOTH parties, not just your hated Republicans.

Hopefully, one day you will figure it out. You may be older than me but you are obviously behind on that learning curve. I sincerely hope you were not too confused about the concept of all government having corruption rather than just the Republicans. Alas, I fear that concept falls on deaf ears.... err blind eyes. Hard to see the truth when you spend so much time waving your pom poms.

This country will only start to improve when the populace wakes up and realizes that regardless of (R) or (D) MOST politicians are not looking out for their constituents. They are in it for themselves and the power and $.

You still don't get it in you blind partisanship. How do you know that some Democrats didn't complain about the practice? Whether they did or didn't is immaterial. The pubs are in the majority. They get to set the rules. They don't need any help from the dems to do that. The more you try to ignore that central fact, the more your assumed "impartiality" is shown for what it is - a partisan attempt to protect the people you vote for. But I've made my point, even if you don't want to hear it. I learned a long time ago that talking to stumps is a one-way conversation.

Those pom poms are just blinding aren't they?? Yes I made my points too and you did what you normally do when your hate for all things Republican is pointed out to you.... you ignored the points. You keep thinking it is a D v. R thing rather than a overall government thing. I'm sure that makes you feel all better.

Exactly. Rep for you.

Edit:

I guess I have been repping you too much lately. It won't allow me to do it again. You are owed one rep.

Swamp, do you thiunk this is a true or false statement?

Until we all recognize that both parties are equally guilty, we will continue to get the sorry excuse for government that we currently have.

Vote libertarian if possible, if not, vote against the incumbent and maybe we can flush the system. If we remove the senior leadership that propogates the system, maybe we might get somebodies attention.
